Where is the ATS game.log.txt?

On Windows: Documents › American Truck Simulator › game.log.txt. The game overwrites it every time it starts, so load it right after the problem, before launching the game again. On Steam Deck or Linux it’s in ~/.local/share/American Truck Simulator/, and if your Documents folder is in OneDrive, look in OneDrive › Documents › American Truck Simulator.

What it checks

  • Your active mods and their order, exactly as the game loaded them.
  • Errors explained in plain English: missing files, clashing mods, mods rejected for their version, unconnected maps…
  • Compatibility: it compares each mod with the version its author states, and warns you when a mod needs another one you don’t have active.
  • A recommended load order by groups, ready to copy.
  • Mods we don’t know yet: you can ask us to review them.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the game.log.txt file?

On Windows: Documents › American Truck Simulator › game.log.txt. The game overwrites it every time it starts, so load it right after the problem, before launching the game again. On Steam Deck or Linux it’s in ~/.local/share/American Truck Simulator/, and if your Documents folder is in OneDrive, look in OneDrive › Documents › American Truck Simulator.

Is it safe? Do you upload my file?

It’s safe. The file is read in your browser and never sent to any server. We only receive what you choose to send: a request to review a mod (its Steam Workshop number or file name), your feedback and, if you say yes at the end, anonymous statistics. Learn more.

Does it work with TruckersMP?

Yes, for seeing your mods and errors. Keep in mind TruckersMP only allows some mods: check its rules.

Can it check a Steam Workshop collection?

Yes. Open the “Check a Steam collection” tab, paste the collection link and Holyfix tells you which mods were removed, which aren’t for ATS, which version each one is for and which dependencies are missing.

Why does it say a mod is for another version when it works for me?

We use the version the mod’s author states on its official page. Many mods keep working on newer versions without changes; if it works for you, you can ignore the warning.

One of my mods isn’t recognized. What can I do?

Click “Ask us to review it”. If the mod is legal and has an official source, we add it to Holymod and Holyfix will recognize it from then on.

Is Holyfix free?

Yes, it’s free, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
