What this mod does
New Scania V8 Range, by A u t u m n, adds four engines and updated gearboxes from Scania’s new range to SCS’s Scania S and R 2016. It has over 104,000 subscribers.
Engines
- 530 hp (395 kW) and 2,800 Nm.
- 590 hp (440 kW) and 3,050 Nm.
- 660 hp (495 kW) and 3,300 Nm.
- 770 hp (574 kW) and 3,700 Nm.
With the new gearboxes, shift time drops from 0.7 to 0.4 seconds. The author admits he doesn’t know if that’s realistic, because he has no real data. In his 0–100 km/h test unloaded with a 4×2, the 770 hp V8 takes 10.6 seconds, versus 12.6 for the old 730 hp one.
Version
Version 25, from September 29, 2025, adds support for 1.56. Since version 22 it works on every version from 1.30 onward. The author says he updates it within a week of each stable release, never for betas. He also notes that SCS added its own new V8 engines in 1.57.

How to install it
- Open the "New Scania V8 Range" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Wait for Steam to finish downloading.
- Launch ETS2, open the Mod Manager and enable the mod.
- Put it above all your other mods if the engines make no sound.
- Go to the service shop with a Scania S or R 2016 and swap in the new engine and gearbox.
