What this mod does
New Frontier is a European map by OlaHaldor for players who want to design their farm their own way. It’s an open landscape of gentle hills with small patches of forest scattered around, suited to both crops and livestock, and with almost nothing built.
Features
- 5 buyable fields and 21 or 69 land plots, depending on the version.
- It only has a farmers market and a sawmill: you build all other production chains and selling points yourself.
- Water: build your own tank or fill up at the pond.
- It also includes a Forestry edition.
Who it’s for
It’s a «blank canvas» map: ideal for players who enjoy construction mode, laying out custom fields and placing their own production chains. If you’d rather have a map with everything ready and lots of fields from the start, it may not be for you, which explains why its rating (3.6) is lower than other maps despite more than 3,000 votes.
Current version
Version 1.3.0.0 fixes the round bales that the Forestry edition used by default and doesn’t require a new savegame. It’s about 123 MB and needs no other mods.
Since it’s an open map, it’s a good base for trying out buildings and production chains from the ModHub. It’s available on PC/Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, with no DLC required.

How to install it
- Open the ModHub from the game menu (PC/Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X|S or Nintendo Switch 2), search for "New Frontier" and download it.
- On PC/Mac you can also download FS25_NewFrontier.zip from the official ModHub page.
- If you download it manually, copy the .zip (don't unzip it) into the mods folder: Documents > My Games > FarmingSimulator2025 > mods.
- Activate the mod when you load or create your savegame.
- Pick New Frontier when you create a new savegame.

Common problems
Is it on consoles?
Yes. The ModHub offers it on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, as well as PC/Mac.
Do I have to start a new savegame when updating?
No: the author says 1.3.0.0 doesn't require it.
Does it have production chains?
Only a farmers market and a sawmill; you build the rest yourself.
