What this mod does

The Alzen Porsche 996 Biturbo “Turbinchen” is a one-off car that Jürgen Alzen’s team built for the VLN championship on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. More power and more weight, less aero and less electronics, and not even a sequential gearbox. AccAkut made the model, physics and sound from scratch.

What’s included

  • 2003 version with about 740 hp and rear-wheel drive, and 2005 version, the car’s final year, with about 600 hp and all-wheel drive.
  • Physics made with permission and some data from the official team, tuned against real Nürburgring lap times.
  • Five-link multilink rear suspension like the real car, animated wiper and fuel use of about seven VLN laps per tank.
  • Several real and fictional liveries, with templates, and its own sound.

Who it’s for

For anyone who enjoys the Nordschleife in a raw car with an H-pattern shifter. As the author points out, it has nothing to do with the old VLN 2005 mod for rFactor.

Version

Version 4.0 (September 2018) added the multilink suspension, improved Custom Shaders Patch compatibility, reworked the brake glow and dashboard, and fixed engine braking. The physics are packed for online play.

Unofficial mod made by a fan. Names, logos and liveries belong to their respective owners; neither the author nor Holymod is affiliated with them.
