- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
- In your profile's Mod Manager, enable “Detroit Diesel 6-71 Straight pipe sound”.
- Check whether your modded truck supports it; if not, the engine would need to be added to its .def files.
- Go to a service shop and fit the 6-71 or the 6-71TI.
