Realistic Weighstations (10% chance) for American Truck Simulator

What this mod does

Realistic Weighstations (10% Chance) is a tweak by TheKnoife for American Truck Simulator’s weigh stations. Without mods, every open weigh station makes you pull in 60% of the time, according to the author. With this mod the chance drops to 10%. There are still inspections, but you no longer stop at almost every one.

What it changes

• It only changes how often you’re sent into the weigh station; fines for skipping it stay the same.
• The author started with a 0% version for his own use. He now publishes 0, 10, 25, 50, 75 and 100% variants, gathered in his own Workshop collection.

Version and compatibility

The title lists ATS 1.61 and the latest update is from September 17, 2026. The description doesn’t mention DLC or load order. If you use another weigh station or economy mod that touches the same setting, enable only one, because they can override each other.

Is it realistic?

Opinions vary. One user says most weigh stations in Texas are closed, but in Oklahoma he was always sent in. Another says that in real life he’s often sent in, although he almost never has to stop to weigh. If 10% feels too low, pick another variant from the collection.

Requirements

• American Truck Simulator 1.61 (according to the mod's title)
• Steam account
• No DLC or additional mods

How to install it

1. Open the “[1.61] Realistic Weighstations (10% Chance)” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
2. Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
3. Open the Mod Manager in your profile and enable “[1.61] Realistic Weighstations (10% Chance)”.
4. If you prefer another percentage, subscribe only to the variant you want from the author's collection (0, 25, 50, 75 or 100%).
5. Load your profile and drive as usual: weigh stations will send you in less often.
