What this mod does
Aures Horse Skins is a cosmetic pack for Hytale’s horses. Its goal is to make every horse you find unique: instead of identical herds, you’ll see random combinations of coats, manes and tails.
What changes
- Over 70 new patterns, coats, manes and tails randomly assigned to adult horses.
- Improved eating, sleeping and running animations.
- Small tweaks to the horse model.
- It doesn’t change behavior or add new horse breeds or types.
Compatibility
The author says it should be compatible with almost everything. It may conflict with mods that change the horses’ model, textures or UV mapping. It works well alongside the other packs in the Aures series, like the livestock one, and with other similar content packs.
How it’s applied
The new textures only affect horses that spawn after you install the pack; the ones already in your world keep their look. That’s why the author recommends enabling it before creating the world. Version 0.6.3 is published for Hytale 0.6.

Requirements
- Hytale (Early Access) on PC, version 0.6 for version 0.6.3 of the pack
- Enable the pack in the world settings
How to install it
- Open the pack's page on CurseForge and click Install to install it with the CurseForge app (the author's recommended method), or download the .zip from the Files tab.
- If you download it manually, copy the .zip into %APPDATA%\Hytale\UserData\Mods (Windows).
- Before creating the world, open its settings and check Aures Horse Skins in the mod list.
- For an existing world, right-click it, enable the pack and click Save World Settings.
- Load your save: horses that spawn from now on will use the new looks.
Common problems
My horses still look the same
Only horses that spawn after you enable the pack change; the ones you already had keep their look.
Does it change how horses behave?
No. It only changes their look, some animations and model details.
Is it compatible with other horse mods?
Generally yes, except for those that modify the horses' model, textures or UV mapping.
