What this mod does
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the big car festival held every summer on the Goodwood estate in England, with its famous hill climb past the house. Gunnar333, who also made Borgloh, missed it in sims and modeled its 2017 version using open LIDAR data, videos and thousands of photos for the textures.
What’s included
- HQ versions, highly detailed and optimized for Custom Shaders Patch and Sol, and LQ versions for modest PCs.
- A wet track variant for both, and RainFX since 1.13.
- Track Day with up to 29 opponents and an online variant without AI (1.13).
- Crowds, a commentator and planes, which reviews single out for the atmosphere.
How it plays
It’s a point-to-point hill climb, so it works best in practice mode; the author warns that race mode makes no sense here and that time attack isn’t supported.
Requirements and tips
The HQ versions need CSP and the stFlow shader; if they give you trouble, use the LQ ones. It’s demanding: on an older PC, drop to medium detail. If you’re updating from an earlier version, delete the goodwood_hillclimb folder first. If you use the BLM Lights app, update it and add the exclusion the author specifies, or disable it, to avoid crashes. Some users point out that the hay bales aren’t solid.

Requirements

How to install it
- If you had an earlier version, delete the goodwood_hillclimb folder.
- Go to the mod page on OverTake.gg, log in and download version 1.13 (about 226 MB).
- Drag the file onto the Content Manager window and click Install, or copy the track folder into assettocorsa/content/tracks.
- Pick the HQ (with CSP) or LQ variant, dry or wet.
- Head out in practice mode to run the hill climb.

Common problems
Why doesn't time attack work?
The author says that mode isn't supported; use practice.
The HQ version won't load
It needs CSP and the stFlow shader; if it still fails, use the LQ version.
The game crashes while loading
If you use BLM Lights, update it and add the exclusion the author specifies, or disable it.
