Assetto Corsa Competizione has had a native PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version since February 2022, running at 60 fps and in 4K. Earlier, in June 2020, it came out on PS4 and Xbox One, but those versions run at 30 fps, support at most 20 cars on track and no longer receive updates. If you have a PS5 or a Series X|S, play the new version: the upgrade from PS4 or Xbox One is free. On PC the game has more options (your own servers, VR, custom liveries), and the «Ultimate Edition» with all the DLC is only sold on Steam.
What Assetto Corsa Competizione is (and how it differs from Assetto Corsa)
Assetto Corsa Competizione, or ACC, is the official GT World Challenge game, from Kunos Simulazioni and 505 Games. It came out on PC on May 29, 2019 and focuses on GT racing: GT3, GT4 and GT2 cars from the official seasons, with their teams, drivers, liveries and tracks. It simulates tires, aerodynamics, rain and night racing in great detail.
The original Assetto Corsa from 2014 is something else: an «all-rounder» sim with road cars, classics and race cars, and a huge modding community on PC. ACC doesn’t support community cars or tracks. If what you’re after is Assetto Corsa on console, check the guide to Assetto Corsa on PS4 and PS5.
ACC versions on each platform
| Platform | Since | Performance | Status (October 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| PC (Steam) | May 29, 2019 | Depends on your PC; supports VR | Reference version; gets content first |
| PS5 and Xbox Series X|S | February 22, 2022 digital (February 24 on disc) | 60 fps and 4K, up to 30 players online | Supported; last content update in June 2026 |
| PS4 and Xbox One | June 23, 2020 | 30 fps, maximum 20 cars on track | Unsupported: they don’t get content from 2023 onward |
Assetto Corsa Competizione on PS5
The PS5 version was developed by Untold Games and launched digitally on February 22, 2022. It runs at 60 fps with 4K output, includes free private online lobbies and supports up to 30 players online. You need PS Plus to play online. Text is available in Spanish; voices are in English.
On the PlayStation Store there are two main options: Assetto Corsa Competizione (includes the PS4 and PS5 versions) and Assetto Corsa Competizione: 2024 Bundle (PS5 only), which adds the GT2 Pack and the 24H Nürburgring Pack. Also, as of October 3, 2026 the store page shows it as included in the PS Plus Extra catalog, so if you have that subscription, you can try it without buying it. Catalogs change, so check first.
Assetto Corsa Competizione on PS4
The PS4 version (and the Xbox One one) was made by the d3t studio and came out on June 23, 2020. It runs at 30 fps and limits races to 20 cars, in single-player too. Kunos explained that the limit came from the CPU power needed to run the AI and physics. It hasn’t received updates since 2022 and doesn’t have the recent content, such as the 2023 pack or the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
If you bought it on PS4, you get the free upgrade to PS5, with your DLC and your save. If you only have a PS4, the game is playable, but keep in mind that the PS4 and PS5 versions don’t play together online.
Assetto Corsa Competizione on Xbox
Xbox is the same story: there’s an Xbox One version and an optimized version for Series X|S, with Smart Delivery (it downloads the one that matches your console). The Xbox store shows three options: the base game, the 2024 Bundle (with the 24h Nürburgring Pack and GT2 Pack) and Assetto Corsa Competizione + 2023 GT World Challenge. For online multiplayer you need Game Pass Essential or higher.
Since December 13, 2023, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S have crossplay in all online modes: public sessions, competition servers and private leagues. PC isn’t part of that crossplay, and neither are PS4 and Xbox One.
Assetto Corsa Competizione on PC
PC is still the most complete version. These are the main differences:
- Your own servers: you can rent a server or set one up yourself with Kunos’s free tool. On console, private lobbies are free and handled by the game. We cover it in Assetto Corsa Competizione servers.
- Bigger grids: on console, online races go up to 30 players. On PC, servers support more.
- Custom liveries: on PC you can add liveries (files in
Documents\Assetto Corsa Competizione\Customs). On console you only have the in-game editor. - Setups: on PC you can copy setup files. On console you have to enter the values by hand (we explain it in ACC setups).
- VR, triple screens and uncapped FPS, depending on your PC.
- Community leagues like Low Fuel Motorsport, which run on PC.
What doesn’t change is the physics: Kunos said from the start that the console physics and sound are the same as on PC, and in 2022 an update brought PS5 and Series X|S physics in line with PC.
What the ACC Ultimate Edition includes
The Assetto Corsa Competizione Ultimate Edition came out in November 2024 and is only on Steam. It bundles the base game and all nine DLC:
- GT2 Pack
- GT4 Pack
- 24H Nürburgring Pack
- American Track Pack
- British GT Pack
- Intercontinental GT Pack
- Challengers Pack
- 2020 GT World Challenge Pack
- 2023 GT World Challenge Pack
As of October 2026 there’s no ACC Ultimate Edition on the PlayStation Store or the Xbox store. On console, the closest thing is the 2024 Bundle plus whichever DLC you want, bought separately. Don’t confuse this edition with the console Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition, which is the original 2014 Assetto Corsa.
Which to pick: PS5, Xbox, PS4 or PC
- PS5 or Xbox Series X|S: the best option if you want to play with a controller or wheel from the couch, with 60 fps, free private lobbies and crossplay between the two consoles.
- PC: if you want competitive leagues, your own servers, VR or the Ultimate Edition with all the content. Check first that your PC meets the Steam requirements.
- PS4 or Xbox One: only if you don’t have another console. It works, but at 30 fps, with fewer cars and without the recent content.
Keep in mind that ACC is in its final stretch. The 2025 season liveries reached console in June 2026 and, according to the specialist press, Kunos is now focusing its work on Assetto Corsa EVO. You can follow its progress in the Assetto Corsa EVO roadmap and its console status in Assetto Corsa EVO on PS5 and Xbox.
