What this mod does
Side dumper trains is a mod by Tommygun that turns SCS’s side dumper into multi-trailer trains. It’s under 300 KB because it only adds configurations, with no new models.
Configurations
- B-trains of 3 to 6 trailers.
- AB and BA triples.
- BAB, ABB and BBA quads.
- BBAB and BABB quints.
You can customize the wheels, paint and accessories of each configuration.
How the cargo works
They all carry dump cargo, which you can take from the freight market or from the TruckersMP dispatcher. There are no state or company restrictions, although the author recommends large companies for the longest trains. To avoid absurd loads, the cargo weight is capped at that of a normal trailer.
Multiplayer
According to the author, it works in single-player, Convoy and TruckersMP without being enabled; you only need to enable it to buy the trailers at the dealer. In August, a user wrote that it didn’t work for them in Convoy, with no reply. It was released on May 31, 2026 (ATS 1.59 era). How to install it
- Open the "Side dumper trains (TruckersMP compatible)" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
- Open your profile's Mod Manager and enable "Side dumper trains (TruckersMP compatible)".
- Look for dump cargo on the freight market or, if you want your own trailer, buy it at the trailer dealer.
- For TruckersMP: buy the trailer in single-player with the mod enabled, close the game and launch TruckersMP.

Common problems
How many trailers can it pull?
Up to six as a B-train, plus mixed triples, quads and quints.
Are they super heavy?
No. The cargo weight is capped at that of a normal trailer.
Does it work on TruckersMP?
