What this mod does
The Take Your Time Mod is a mod by PhobiAAA for players who want to drive without rushing. It increases job delivery deadlines: if a load gave you 2 hours, you’ll now get between 12 and 18. You can stop, take detours or choose longer routes without the delivery running late.
What it includes
- Much longer delivery deadlines on all jobs.
- Loads stay available on the market for longer: the 1.61 update raised their availability from 30 to 60 hours.
- Fixes a bug in the author’s previous version, where hired drivers drove at 30 km/h and took twice as long. They now drive at the game’s normal speed.
Where it comes from
PhobiAAA used to maintain “Increased Delivery Time”, an update of a mod by DarkCaptain. He has stopped updating it and says he built this mod from scratch to understand it and fix it better. He presents it as a testing version: it works, but he asks people to report bugs.
Compatibility and issues
It’s marked for ATS 1.61 (updated September 14, 2026). One user says it didn’t work for him with the Road Trip DLC. The author replies that this is usually caused by another mod that touches the economy or by running a version older than 1.60. Don’t combine this mod with others that change the economy file.

How to install it
- Open the “The Take Your Time Mod 1.61” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
- Open the Mod Manager in your profile and enable “The Take Your Time Mod 1.61”.
- Disable other mods that change delivery deadlines or the economy.
- Take a new job and check that the deadline is much longer.
