What this mod does
Add-on city bus is an add-on by Carlos Daniel (caarl_dan), author of Brazilian city buses such as the Caio Apache Vip V and the Mascarello GranVia 2024. It doesn’t add any bus: it changes game details so that driving a city bus in Euro Truck Simulator 2 feels more realistic. The author says it works with all city buses.
What it changes
- New driver clothing texture, with a 3D badge, for both male and female drivers.
- Sounds of handrails and springs when climbing hills, of crashes and of squealing brakes.
- New sounds when coupling and uncoupling trailers.
- New models and colors for trigger points (garage, facility, etc.).
- New UI textures and a different cargo outline.
How to use it
The author recommends loading it with priority over other mods that change the same sounds. Since the changes affect the whole game, he disables it himself when he isn’t driving buses: use it only in your city bus saves.
Version
The author doesn’t state the game version. In January 2025 he acknowledged bugs on 1.53, and in April 2025 he said they were fixed. The Steam file was last updated on September 17, 2026.

How to install it
- Open the mod's page on Steam Workshop and click Subscribe.
- Launch ETS2 and open the Mod Manager.
- Enable Add-on city bus and place it above other mods that change the same sounds.
- Load your profile with your city bus.
- Disable it when you go back to playing with trucks.

Does it add a bus?
No. It only changes sounds, textures and supporting models; you need a modded city bus.
Does it work with any city bus?
The author says yes, with all of them.
Can I leave it on with trucks?
The author disables it when he isn't driving buses, because the changes affect the whole game.
