ETS2 bus mods

Here are 9 mods for buses in Euro Truck Simulator 2: intercity and luxury coaches, city buses and double-deckers that you buy at the dealer and drive like a truck, plus a mod that turns passengers into cargo. The base game has no drivable buses and the official ETS2 Coaches DLC still has no release date, so for now you can only drive them with mods. Each mod page links to the author's official download and tells you whether it's free or paid and its compatible version. They're reviewed for 1.61, the current version; 1.62 is still in open beta.

The best ETS2 bus mods to start with

• Niccoló New Isidro 3 Multichasis: an Argentine double-decker coach on a Mercedes-Benz O500RSD or Scania K chassis, modeled from scratch by ARBus Mods. Free, no DLC and up to date for 1.61.
• Metalsur Starbus 3 405: the double-decker from Argentine coachbuilder Metalsur on a Scania K440/K450, also by ARBus Mods, free and for 1.61.
• Busscar Vissta Buss 1999: a Brazilian coach on a Mercedes-Benz O-400 RSE chassis that you buy at the mod dealer; it works from 1.51 to 1.61.
• Passenger mod: it doesn't add a bus, but passengers as "cargo" at companies in the base game and in maps like ProMods or Grand Utopia, so you can run services from the freight market. For 1.61 and tested in Convoy.
• Solaris Urbino III 12 BVG: a 12-meter city bus in the livery of Berlin's BVG, a version for 1.60 that needs the DBus Vehicles Shared assets package.
• Irizar i8 Integral: two engine sounds, a reversing camera and 10 company liveries. The current edition is paid (1.60 or later); the free one stopped at 1.56.
• Setra S 517 HDH TopClass: a luxury coach with a retarder, 20 liveries and animated destination signs; paid version 1.2 for 1.60 or later.
• MAN Lion's Coach 2023: 13 meters, 41+2 seats, a digital tachograph and configurable signs, by the same author as the Irizar and the Setra.

What to keep in mind

• How they play: mod buses are bought like any other truck and go into the normal job system. They don't come with stops or timetables; if you want to carry passengers, add Passenger mod.
• Free or paid: the coaches from OyuncuyusBis Mods (Irizar i8, Setra TopClass, MAN Lion's Coach and Mercedes-Benz Tourismo 16 RHD) have their current version paid on the author's website; the free ones only go up to 1.56 and don't work on 1.61.
• Dependencies: some need a separate asset package, like the Solaris with the DBus Vehicles Shared assets. Install it too.
• Installation: subscribe on Steam Workshop or copy the .scs to DocumentsEuro Truck Simulator 2mod and activate it in the Mod Manager of each profile. If the author declares compatible versions and yours isn't listed, the game won't let you activate it.
• Buses in traffic: if you only want to see them on the road, not drive them, look in the traffic category for the Bus Traffic Pack by Jazzycat.
