What this mod does
The Starbus 3 405 is the double-decker version of the long-distance coach built by Argentine bodybuilder Metalsur. ARBus Mods brought it to Euro Truck Simulator 2 with its own 3D model and distributes it for free under a non-commercial Creative Commons license. It’s the team’s second coach, after the Niccoló New Isidro 3, and it shares many of its improvements.
What’s included
- Scania K440 and K450 chassis.
- 47 paint jobs of Argentine companies in 8K, contributed by the community.
- Animated doors and luggage bays, a realistic interior with night lighting and its own sound pack.
- More than 30 destination signs, plus engine and transmission data based on the real vehicle.
How a bus works in ETS2
ETS2 doesn’t have an official bus mode yet: SCS has announced the Coaches DLC, with routes and passengers, but there’s no release date. This mod adds the coach as just another vehicle you buy at the dealer and drive within the truck system; there are no passengers to pick up and no stops.
Who it’s for
If you love double-decker coaches and want a polished, free model, it’s well worth it. The destination signs fit best with the Argentine map Mapa Ceibo, although it’s not required.
Version
V1.1.2, released on September 20, 2026, adds compatibility with ETS2 1.61. The official page lists support from 1.57 onward.

How to install it
- Open ARBus Mods' official thread on the SCS forum and download the 1.61 version from its link (ModsFire) or from its TruckyMods page.
- If you download manually, extract the .scs file and copy it into Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod.
- Open the game, go to the Mod Manager and enable Metalsur Starbus 3 405.
- Go to Services > Buy Trucks, find the mod brands section and buy the Metalsur.
- When customizing it, choose the paint job first and then the rest of the options.

Common problems
Does it carry passengers?
No. The mod adds the coach as a drivable vehicle; ETS2 doesn't have an official passenger mode yet.

Does it work in multiplayer?
The author says it's optimized for and compatible with multiplayer. TruckersMP isn't mentioned.
I see a black object in the reversing camera
It's a known bug the author has already noted.
