ETS2 bus mods: the best ones (2026)

As of November 3, 2026, Euro Truck Simulator 2 still has no official buses: the Coaches DLC has been announced but has no release date, so to drive a bus in ETS2 1.61 you need a mod. The best free ones are on Steam Workshop and the SCS forum: the Marcopolo Paradiso G6 1200 (the most-subscribed Brazilian coach on the Workshop), the Caio Millennium V city bus, updated to 1.61, or the Argentine double-decker Niccoló New Isidro 3. Modern European coaches, like the MAN Lion’s Coach 2023, are paid mods on the OyuncuyusBis website (between 125 and 450 ₺). And to carry real passengers, add the Passenger mod. Here they are sorted by type, with game version, size or price, and where to get them.

Are there official buses in ETS2?

Not yet. SCS Software announced the Coaches DLC in June 2025, with its own coach mode (stations, schedules and passengers on board) and three confirmed models: Scania Touring, Volvo 9700 DD and MAN Lion’s Coach. It’s still in development, with no date or price; the only thing already in the game is the bus stations added by update 1.61. You can find everything that’s known in the ETS2 Coaches DLC. In the meantime, mod buses drive like any other truck, with no stops or tickets, unless you add the passenger mod.

How mod buses work in ETS2

• You buy them at the mod dealer. Go into any truck dealer, open the mod dealer entrance and pick the brand.
• You drive them without a trailer, with real-name chassis, engines and gearboxes, and they go through the service shop like a truck.
• Three ways to get them. On Steam Workshop you just subscribe. The ARBus Mods ones are downloaded from their SCS forum thread (file hosted on ModsFire). Paid ones are bought on the author’s website: oyuncuyusbis.com charges in Turkish lira, edembus.com.br in Brazilian reais (download from «Minha conta») and TaşıyıcıMods sells on Gumroad with a minimum price and updates by email.
• Check the version. The stable release is 1.61 and 1.62 is in open beta; each author marks their own, and TaşıyıcıMods only confirms up to 1.57. If a bus throws errors, run your game.log through the mod analyzer.
• Multiplayer. Only the Passenger mod (tested in Convoy) and the ARBus coaches confirm it.

None of them need DLC. The versions are the ones each author lists on their page.

European coaches: the paid ones from OyuncuyusBis

The current European coaches that work on 1.61 are paid mods. The MAN Lion’s Coach 2023 (250 ₺, version 1.2.1) is the same model the official DLC will bring: 13 meters, 41+2 seats, digital tachograph, configurable destination signs and two cameras. The Tourismo 16 RHD 2020 (220 ₺) is one of the most common coaches in Europe, with OM457LA sound and a rear camera. The Setra S 531 DT (340 ₺) is the double-decker, and the Irizar i8 Integral (160 ₺) brings a Spanish brand into the game with ten liveries. The cheapest is the Neoplan Starliner 2 (125 ₺). Heads up: several of them have a free version on TruckyMods, but it stopped at 1.56; for 1.61 you need the paid edition.

Brazilian and Argentine coaches

The ones by Cristhian Cardoso are free and on Steam Workshop: the Marcopolo Paradiso G6 1200 has over 165,000 subscribers and runs an O-400 RSE; the Viaggio G4 800 is a lightweight classic (47.7 MB); the Volare W9 is a minibus with three chassis, and the Busscar Vissta Buss 1999 is the long-haul highway coach. The author considers them tested up to 1.62, although the first three haven’t had a file change since September 2024. More recent and paid, the ones from EDEM BUS: the Comil Campione Invictus DD (R$ 54.90 with Mercedes, Scania and Volvo chassis; R$ 29.90 each) and the Vissta Buss and Jum Buss 360 (R$ 29.90), tested on 1.61 in September 2026.

The Argentine ones from ARBus Mods are free, with their own 3D models and a clear license: the Niccoló New Isidro 3 (V3.4.2) comes with three chassis and over 60 paint jobs; the Metalsur Starbus 3 405 (V1.1.2), Scania K440 and K450 chassis with 47 paint jobs. Both have been on 1.61 since September 20, 2026 and go well with the Latin America maps for ETS2.

Turkish coaches: Travego and Tourismo

These are also from OyuncuyusBis and paid. The Travego 16 SHD 2020–2023 (320 ₺) bundles four model years of bodywork and OM470/471 sounds, but it’s in early access: it may have bugs, and old skins don’t work with its new template. The Travego 15 SHD 2015 (220 ₺) is the classic, with over 90 skins, three retarders and a tachograph, and the Travego 17 SHD (200 ₺) sounds like an OM502LA V8. For the Tourismo you have the 16 and 16 Relax 2015 (160 ₺, two bodies).

City buses

Here the Multi-Chassis by Carlos Daniel rule, free on Steam and with a dedicated file for 1.61: the Caio Millennium V (Mercedes-Benz and Volvo chassis, 23 paint jobs and an AI traffic version), the Mascarello GranVia 2024 (six chassis, standard and midi, 43 paint jobs) and the Caio Apache Vip V (20 chassis and over 70 paint jobs, but 648 MB; several players can’t find it at the dealer). His Add-on city bus adds brake and suspension sounds; disable it when you go back to a truck. The European city bus is the Solaris Urbino III 12 BVG, in the Berlin livery (latest note: 1.60); it needs the DBus Vehicles Shared assets package. Turkish city bus: the Otokar Sultan midibus by TaşıyıcıMods (€15, only confirmed up to 1.57).

Classics

TaşıyıcıMods sells its classic Turkish coaches on Gumroad, at a minimum of €15: the Mercedes-Benz O302 from the ’60s and ’70s, with animated air conditioning and engine; the O304, with an animated passenger and assistant and over ten paint jobs; the O404 from the ’90s (version 4, with animated luggage) and the MAN SR 240 from the ’80s. They also have their own Setra S 531 DT (version 7). Heads up: each product only confirms 1.56 and 1.57; try them with a copy of your profile. As a free oddity, the Malaysian SKSBUS e138i (35.5 MB), with no version listed by its author.

How to carry passengers: Passenger mod

The Passenger mod by Cristhian Cardoso (10.7 MB, updated to 1.61 on September 22, 2026) adds passengers as «cargo» at ETS2 companies and at those of maps like ProMods, Grand Utopia or EAA: you accept the job on the freight market and do it with your bus. Disable advanced trailer coupling in Options > Gameplay and, if you don’t see any passengers, sleep so they get generated. They don’t show up at the base map’s stations and, since it’s a trailer adaptation, it can have the odd glitch. It doesn’t include buses: you need one from this list.

Buses in traffic (not drivable)

If you just want to see more buses on the road, Jazzycat’s Bus Traffic Pack (version 18.2.1, 1.61, 436.92 MB) puts 43 buses with over 1,300 paint jobs into traffic. Lighter options: FlixBus AI Traffic Skin or Pasajeros en Ruta Lite, with Mexican bus lines. There are more in the traffic category, and all the drivable ones in buses for ETS2.
