What this mod does

Kast’s Rigid chassis addon is one of the most followed truck mods on the official SCS forum: its thread has over a million views. It turns the game’s trucks into rigid trucks, with the cargo on their own chassis instead of on a semi-trailer, like the ones you see in northern Europe also pulling a trailer.

How it works

  • A required base file with tandem chassis in several wheelbases and bodies from brands like Ekeri, Knapen, Närko, NTM and Toplift, plus parts such as Zepro tail lifts and Moffett forklifts.
  • One add-on per truck: SCS’s Volvo FH4, FH5 and FH6, DAF 2021/XD, MAN TGX (Euro 6 and 2020), Renault Range T and Iveco S-Way, and also mod trucks like the Scanias by RJL, JUseeTV and Eugene, Gloover’s MAN TGX E6, Krille’s Magnum, FH1 and Valor F-Series, and johnny244’s FH3.
  • Options for clearance lights and upper rear lights in accessory slots since 1.3.

Who it’s for

For anyone who wants to build a truck with a box, curtain or tipper body and hook a trailer behind it. If you use a mod truck, you need that mod installed: the add-on only adds the chassis. It pairs well with Ekeri Trailers Revision, by the same author.

Version

The author lists it for ETS2 1.58.x or later. The latest update (October 4, 2026) brings the add-on for Eugene’s Scania up to its new version.

Highlights and things to keep in mind

Highlights
  • Highly configurable Scandinavian-style rigids
  • Compatible with lots of SCS and mod trucks
  • Maintained by Kast, a veteran author of Nordic trailers
Keep in mind
  • The final download is on Sharemods, which shows ads; only click the file's download button
  • You have to download the base plus one add-on per truck
  • Old rigid add-ons stop working with the new base

Requirements

  • Euro Truck Simulator 2 1.58 or later
  • The mod's base file
  • The add-on for the truck you want to use and, if it's a mod truck, that mod installed

How to install it

  1. Open Kast's official thread on the SCS forum.
  2. Download the base file and the add-on for the truck you're going to use.
  3. Copy the .scs files to Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod.
  4. In the Mod Manager, place the rigid chassis addon above the base and the truck mods, as the author says.
  5. If you're coming from an old version, delete the old rigid add-ons: they aren't compatible with the new base.
  6. At the service shop, swap your truck's chassis for one of the rigid options and pick a body.

Common problems

Does it work with SCS trucks?

Yes, there are add-ons for several SCS models (Volvo FH4–FH6, DAF 2021/XD, MAN TGX, Renault Range T, Iveco S-Way) and for several mod trucks.

Do the old rigid addons still work?

No. The author warns that it's a new mod and the old add-ons don't work with it.

Where do I load each file?

Above the base and the truck mods, following the order given in the thread.

Is it paid?

No, it's free; Kast sells other work separately, but this one is a free download from his thread.
