Precision Farming for Farming Simulator 22

What this mod does

Precision Farming is a free DLC from GIANTS Software for Farming Simulator 22, downloaded from ModHub. It brings real-world precision agriculture to the game, with the goal of saving seed, lime, fertilizer, herbicide, fuel and money while reducing environmental impact.

What it adds

• Four soil types and soil sampling.
• Crop sensors and mechanics to improve yield.
• A new menu tab with a soil map and filters, an economic analysis of each action and an environmental score for your farm.
• Three machines: the John Deere R732i PowrSpray sprayer and the ISARIA Scout and ISARIA PRO Active sensors.

Background

It grew out of a John Deere project in Germany funded by EIT Food and the EU, with the Polish Academy of Sciences, Grupo AN (Spain) and the universities of Hohenheim and Reading.

Usage tips

Start by taking soil samples before fertilizing: that way you apply only what each area needs. The environmental score rewards, among other things, reduced tillage and spot spraying of weeds. Version 1.0.2.1 adds support for crops on modded maps.

Requirements

• Farming Simulator 22 on PC/Mac, PS4, PS5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S
• About 74 MB of free space

How to install it

1. Download it from the official ModHub (link on this page) or search for "Precision Farming" in the in-game Mods menu, on PC or console.
2. If you download it manually on PC/Mac, copy FS22_precisionFarming.zip (do not unzip it) into the mods folder: Documents > My Games > FarmingSimulator2022 > mods.
3. Enable the mod when you create or load your savegame.
4. Once your savegame loads, open the new Precision Farming tab in the menu and start with soil sampling.
