Hytale bosses: mini-bosses, dangerous mobs and loot

Hytale bosses: Gobliterator and Elite Goblin Feastmaster (The Deepworks, Update 7), mini-bosses, where they are, how to beat them, loot and dangerous mobs.

Updated: 24 Oct 2026

Since Update 7 (Chapter I, version 0.7), released on October 12, 2026, Hytale finally has real bosses. They’re in The Deepworks, the game’s first handcrafted dungeon: the Elite Goblin Feastmaster is its first boss, and the Gobliterator is the final boss and the first big multi-phase fight. On top of that, you still have the usual mini-bosses, tougher-than-normal creatures that guard a specific spot: the Earthen Golem (Zone 1 temple portal), the Trork Chieftain (Trork castle), the Goblin Duke (goblin lair), the Burnt Skeleton Praetorian (spiked arena), the Scarak Broodmother (desert nests) and the Firesteel Golem (volcanic caves). Dragons are in the game files, but you can’t fight them yet.

Since Update 7 the game has an official Spanish translation, but here we keep the English names used in the official patch notes so you can recognize them. Loot data comes from the community wiki, was checked in Update 6 and may change with every patch.

Update 7 bosses: The Deepworks

The Deepworks is the Chapter I dungeon: challenge rooms, goblin hordes, flames and debris to dodge, puzzles and checkpoints. To avoid spoiling the fight, we only tell you what the official notes say.

Boss Where What we know
Elite Goblin Feastmaster The Deepworks, first boss The notes warn that it’s more agile than it looks.
Gobliterator The Deepworks, final boss Hytale’s first big multi-phase boss fight. In the July preview, Hypixel showed it as a huge goblin-piloted robot.

To the left of the entrance to the boss room there’s a sinister-looking button: it turns on a harder mode. Use it once you already know the fight. To reach the dungeon, follow the objectives on the new Chapter screen; the chapter kicks off when you explore the Goblin Lab in the Forgotten Temple. It’s all in our Hytale Update 7 guide.

How to find and beat each mini-boss

Earthen Golem

It’s the first big fight for almost every player, because it blocks the Ruined Temple portal that leads to the Forgotten Temple, which is also where Chapter I starts. It can also show up in an underground arena. Its attacks always follow the same sequence: a swing with one arm, a swing with the other, a spin, a ground slam, a stomp and a clap. The most dangerous one is the heavy spin, which chains lots of hits in a row: back off as soon as you see it start. With a bow or crossbow you can attack it from range, and a shield blocks the ground slams. It respawns after one in-game day. Keep in mind that Update 7 cuts crossbow damage quite a bit.

Trork Chieftain

The Trork leader lives in the largest camp, a walled fortress with a throne room. Before you go after him, clear out the Trorks patrolling outside, because the fight gets much harder if they surround you. He carries a stone axe and punishes mindless button-mashing: dodge and counterattack.

Goblin Duke

He sits on his throne, surrounded by treasure and junk, at the back of a goblin lair in the Emerald Wilds. In Update 6 he behaved more like a strong sword enemy than a multi-phase boss, and the hard part was getting to him, because the lair is full of goblins. Heads up: Update 7 completely reworks the goblin faction and its notes don’t mention the Goblin Duke, so his behavior and his lair may have changed.

Burnt Skeleton Praetorian

You can spot its arena from afar by the stone walls, bars, spikes and green-fire braziers. Its location changes in every world. It blocks with a shield, charges and summons skeletons: take out the skeletons first and attack from range, since it’s slow. Bring at least copper or iron gear, plus food.

Scarak Broodmother

The Scarak queen lives deep inside their nests in the Howling Sands and lays the eggs that new young hatch from. The danger isn’t so much her as the swarm around her. Stay out of narrow tunnels where you can get cornered, and clear the young before you focus on her.

Firesteel Golem

It’s a fire golem that guards a small area in volcanic caves, next to lava. It doesn’t leave its spot except to chase you, so you can retreat to heal. Its attacks are similar to the Earthen Golem’s, heavy spin included, but it hits a lot harder. It’s immune to fire.

Dangerous creatures in each zone

Besides the bosses, every zone has enemies that can kill you if you’re poorly equipped. The zones are explained in detail in our Hytale zones and biomes guide.

Zone Creatures to watch out for What they drop
Emerald Wilds Fen Stalker (The Fens swamp), Trorks, goblins, skeletons, spiders, wolves and bears Fen Stalker: wild meat and medium hide
Howling Sands Scaraks, sabertooth tigers, crocodiles, snakes, Cactees Scaraks: Venom Sac and Sturdy Chitin
Whisperfrost Frontiers Outlanders, Yeti, Frost Golem, polar bears Outlanders: Shadoweave Scraps. Yeti: heavy hide and Essence of Ice
Devastated Lands Emberwulf, Cave Rex, raptors, burnt skeletons, Wraith, zombies Emberwulf: heavy hide and Essence of Fire. Cave Rex: heavy hide and meat

Fen Stalker

A very fast reptile that roars before it lunges at you. Two handy tricks: at night, torchlight scares it off, and if you drop raw fish in front of it, it stays calm while it eats. It can’t swim.

Outlanders

The Outlanders are a Zone 3 tribe corrupted by the Void. Almost all of them carry cobalt weapons and armor, and there are several types: hunters that attack from range, berserkers, marauders, priests that use water magic and brutes, the most dangerous. In their villages they usually move in groups, so pull one or two at a time.

Yeti

It lives in mountain caves near ice spikes and a campfire. It rips up chunks of earth and throws them at you, so don’t stand still at mid-range.

Emberwulf and Cave Rex

The Emberwulf roams the surface of the Devastated Lands and is as dangerous as a bear, or more. The Cave Rex hunts in the Zone 4 underground jungle and is probably the hardest-hitting animal in the game. It attacks everything it sees. Bring cobalt or adamantite armor, circle around it to avoid its bites from the front, and strike when it misses a charge.

What changes for creatures in Update 7

  • Goblins completely reworked. They now come in many shapes and sizes. They fear the Void and flee from its creatures unless they’re in a group. The changelog mentions more than 20 new or redesigned NPCs, including a boss. You’ll find them mostly in Goblin Breaches and in the new biome, The Guttering Hollows.
  • Void creatures. They have a new look, have been rebalanced, are hostile to goblins and no longer spawn at night in the main world (the Echo of Orbis, as the notes call it).
  • Rats. Down from 15 to 10 health.
  • Scarak Seekers. They attack more slowly and their poison deals 18 damage (36 before).
  • Memories. Some creatures now have to be defeated to get their Memory; just finding them is no longer enough.
  • Combat. Non-elite enemies in chapter zones flinch when hit, and damage over time can no longer be blocked.

Dragons: you can’t fight them yet

The game has fire, ice and Void dragons, but none of them is a real fight yet. The Frost Dragon sleeps on top of a mountain in the Dragonspire Weald fragment and there’s no way to wake it. The Fire Dragon doesn’t spawn naturally and, although you can summon it with commands, it has no behavior. This was checked in Update 6, and the Update 7 notes don’t mention dragons. Be wary of guides that explain how to kill them.

General boss tips

  • Bring a ranged weapon and a shield. Almost every mini-boss is slow or has heavily telegraphed attacks. Since Update 7, crossbows hit quite a bit less and melee weapons attack 15% faster, so don’t rely on the crossbow alone.
  • Try runes. Chapter I adds mana abilities (Fireball, Ground Slam, Chain Hook…) that you equip at the Runebinder’s Lattice in the Forgotten Temple.
  • Upgrade your gear first. Copper or iron is enough for Zone 1; for the Devastated Lands you need thorium, cobalt or adamantite. Check our Hytale ores guide.
  • Bring potions, but don’t chain them. Since Update 7, health potions share a 15 s cooldown.
  • Mods that help. EyeSpy shows the health of the creature you’re looking at, and Perfect Parries turns blocking into a parry with a counterattack. Endgame & QoL adds more multi-phase bosses and dungeons. Before using them on 0.7, check that they have a compatible version.
