Hytale Update 7 (Chapter I): everything new

Hytale Update 7 (0.7, Oct 12, 2026): goblins, the Deepworks dungeon, runes, gadgets, minigames and official Spanish. Everything new in Chapter I.

Updated: 24 Oct 2026

Hytale Update 7 is «Chapter I: Out of the Breach,» the first chapter of early access. It launched on October 12, 2026 as version 0.7 and comes to Exploration mode, in both new worlds and the ones you already had. The headline features: a completely reworked goblin faction and Goblin Breaches, the first handcrafted dungeon, The Deepworks, with the Gobliterator boss, a rune system with abilities and mana, seven goblin gadgets (glider, hookshot, rocket boots, spyglass…), two minigames (Prop Hunt and Shuffle Jam) and, at last, Spanish as an official game language. We cover all of it based on Hypixel Studios’ official patch notes.

Item and location names are in English, exactly as they appear in the official notes. If you play with the language set to Spanish, you may see them translated.

How to start Chapter I

You don’t need a new world: the chapter works in your existing Exploration worlds and in new ones. Here’s how to kick it off:

  1. Go to the Forgotten Temple. If you haven’t gotten there yet, you need to go through your zone’s temple portal (in Emerald Wilds, the Ruined Temple). We explain it in Hytale zones and biomes.
  2. Explore the Goblin Lab. It’s a new area in the Forgotten Temple. Exploring it unlocks the chapter’s content.
  3. Follow the Chapter screen. It’s new and shows your objectives and rewards.

Breaches start appearing in the world (the Echo of Orbis, as the notes call it) after a few nights, or sooner if you investigate the disturbance at the Forgotten Temple. Heads-up: you can no longer sleep in the Forgotten Temple bed.

If you’re brand new, start with what Hytale is and how to get started.

Goblin Breach and The Guttering Hollows

The Goblin Breach is a temporary portal that opens in the world, and the notes warn that it arrives with a bang: don’t be standing next to it. It leads to an unstable fragment of Orbis overrun by goblins, with the Void pressing in from the edges.

  • Different every time: the fragment regenerates each time you enter.
  • Time-limited: the Void eventually kicks you out. You gain more time by fighting the Void and upgrading the Goblin Breach Console in the Goblin Lab.

The other big addition is The Guttering Hollows, a new biome. It has predators you can track and trap, Void assassins, trapped chests that unleash waves of enemies, and puzzles. For hunts on the other side of a breach you need a Voidheart, and hunting spots have their own map icon.

Goblins have been completely reworked: they come in all shapes and sizes, fear the Void and flee from its creatures unless they’re in a group. The changelog adds up to more than 20 new or redesigned NPCs, two new portal worlds and several new weapons. More in Hytale bosses and creatures.

How long a breach lasts and how to get the Voidheart

Since launch, we’ve learned things the notes didn’t cover. A breach lasts 10 minutes without upgrades and up to 14 with the Goblin Breach Console upgrades; you’ll find them in our Goblin Lab guide. And the Voidheart is no longer farmed at night in the regular world: it now mainly drops from Void Fiends in The Guttering Hollows and from the Gobliterator. We cover it, including a step-by-step bear hunt, in our Voidheart guide.

The 7 goblin gadgets

Gadget What it does
Scrap Drill A drill that breaks a 2×2 block area at once. It also breaks and loots metal blocks.
Scrap Glider A glider: you launch, dive and climb back up while keeping your momentum. Watch your Stamina.
Rocket Boots Rocket boots with a double jump.
Hookshot + Hook Anchors A grappling hook for moving from one anchor to another.
Spyglass A spyglass for seeing far away.
Bangstick A stick that explodes when thrown.
Goblin Repair Kit Repairs items without lowering their max durability.

The notes don’t detail the recipes. The Goblin Repair Kit fixes the big drawback of the regular kit, which lowers max durability with every use (we compare them in how to repair tools in Hytale). And if you were using the Spyglass mod to get a spyglass, the game now ships with an official one.

What each one does and when to use it is in our guide to Hytale goblin gadgets.

Where gadgets are crafted (updated)

The notes didn’t detail the recipes, but they’re known now. All gadgets are crafted at the Goblin Tinkerer’s Workbench in the Goblin Lab, and some recipes require repairing the lab’s machines first. Heads-up: the recipes changed the day after launch. For example, the Scrap Glider now requires 150 Scraps, 6 Dubious Assembly, 6 Spider Silk and 2 Voidtaken Grizzly Hide (as of October 20, 2026, version 0.7.2), and it could change again with patches. You’ll find every recipe in Hytale goblin gadgets and the machines in our Goblin Lab guide.

Runes: abilities and mana

This is the new combat system. You craft Runestones and slot them into a Runebinder’s Lattice; there’s one in the Forgotten Temple. Your character can equip up to 2 Ability Runestones (abilities) and add Modifier Runestones (modifiers) to them.

  • Cost: they’re crafted with Runestone Shards, which you find during the chapter. An Ability costs 2 shards and a Modifier costs 1.
  • Mana: its bar takes the Stamina bar’s spot, which moves down. It regenerates on its own, and landing your weapon’s signature ability gives you mana back.
  • Careful when casting: using an ability slows you down by 40% for a moment.
Ability Runestone Effect Damage Mana Cooldown
Fireball A fireball that explodes 28 fire 30 2 s
Ground Slam Stone spikes that launch enemies into the air 15–35 earth 40 5 s
Wind Strike Your next 3 attacks fire piercing wind arcs (for 8 s) 10 wind 30 2 s
Enrage +30% damage dealt and +20% damage taken for 8 s — 45 4 s
Imbue Poison Poisons your weapon for 8 s; up to 3 stacks of 6 s. Antidotes remove it 2 per second per stack 40 4 s
Chain Hook A chain that pulls nearby enemies to the impact point and slows them 3 blunt 50 6 s
Charged Shot A frost beam you charge up 12–58 water 35 4 s

The 8 Modifier Runestones:

  • Colossal: +40% damage, +60% area and a bigger, slower projectile, at the cost of +60% mana.
  • Enduring: +50% duration.
  • Quickening: −25% damage, −30% cooldown and −20% mana.
  • Rebound: the projectile bounces 2 more times.
  • Rend: a bleed of 2 per second for 6 s and +15% physical damage taken by the enemy.
  • Splinter: the projectile splits 2 more times.
  • Thrift: −25% mana and −20% damage.
  • Wither: slows the enemy by 10% and cuts its damage by 15% for 2 s.

That’s 15 new Runestones in total: 7 abilities and 8 modifiers.

You’ll find the full table of abilities and modifiers, with combos, in our guide to Hytale runes.

Where Runestone Shards come from (updated)

The notes only said shards are found during the chapter. We now know they drop from enemies in The Guttering Hollows and The Deepworks: the Gobliterator drops 4, and Void Fiends, Goblin Gluttons and Revenant Guardians drop 2 each. Runes are crafted at the Goblin Tinkerer’s Workbench, and getting them all costs 22 shards according to the recipes (as of October 20, 2026, version 0.7.2), which may change with patches. We explain it in our Runestone Shards guide, and the combos in our runes guide.

The Deepworks and its bosses

The Deepworks is Hytale’s first handcrafted dungeon: rooms with challenges, goblin hordes, flames and debris to dodge, puzzles and checkpoints. Its two key fights:

  • Elite Goblin Feastmaster: the first boss. The notes warn that he’s nimbler than he looks.
  • Gobliterator: the final boss and the game’s first big multi-phase boss fight.

Want more of a challenge? The sinister-looking button to the left of the boss room entrance turns on a harder mode. We won’t say more so we don’t spoil the dungeon; the rest of the bosses are in Hytale bosses and creatures.

The full walkthrough, with tips to prepare, is in our guide to The Deepworks in Hytale.

Minigames: Prop Hunt and Shuffle Jam

You open them from the main menu, under Minigames, and they’ve been available since October 12, the same day as the chapter. You can queue solo or in a party; in a party, only the leader joins the queue.

  • Prop Hunt: Props disguise themselves as tavern objects and Hunters look for them. Every Prop that gets caught switches to the hunters’ side. Props charge up, by taunting, a smoke bomb with a boost to escape.
  • Shuffle Jam: a round of random microgames where you earn stars. There are 12: Color Party, Diving, High Ground, Lavablocks, Lazers, Memory Floor, Plot Painter, Racing, Stash & Seek, Tile Flip, TNT Run and TNT Tag.

A minigames tab in the Mod Browser and a framework for creating them are coming later.

Minigames: available now

How to get in, according to community guides:

  1. From the main menu, go to Minigames.
  2. The first time, you’ll have to accept the Minigames Rules and the community rules.
  3. Use the side arrows to browse the featured minigames. Clicking outside the Play button shows the rules; Play puts you in the queue.
  4. To play in a party, click the player icon at the top right, then the «+» at the bottom of the friends list, and send invites. Only the leader queues.
  • Players per match: according to a server hosting provider’s guide, 4 or 8 in Shuffle Jam and 12 in Prop Hunt.
  • How to win in Prop Hunt: according to that same guide, Props win if they survive until time runs out, and Hunters win if they eliminate them all.
  • Rewards: we haven’t found any, apart from the Shuffle Jam stars.
  • Community servers with minigames: search for «Minigames» or use the minigame tag in the server browser.

The Mod Browser minigames tab and the framework for creating them still have no date. If you get disconnects when playing in a party, check what patches 0.7.1 and 0.7.2 fix.

Combat and balance changes

Potions and food

  • Health potions share a 15 s cooldown, and stamina potions a 30 s one.
  • Health, stamina and energy potions stack up to 10.
  • Taking damage no longer interrupts eating or drinking. Eating takes 2.5 s and slows you by 25% (previously 60%).
  • Bread, popcorn and cheese heal 5% (previously 15%).
  • Raw fruit, vegetables and crops give a small regeneration for 1 minute.
  • Cooked food buffs last 6 minutes.

Weapons

  • Crossbows, nerfed: the Iron Crossbow combo goes from 27 to 13. On the Ancient Steel Crossbow, the normal attack drops from 16 to 10.5, the combo from 42 to 14 and the signature from 123 to 82. On top of that, attacking with a crossbow slows you by 50%.
  • Melee, faster: the sword, dagger, mace and battleaxe attack about 15% faster.
  • Daggers no longer deal damage through walls, and damage over time can no longer be blocked.
  • Non-elite enemies in the chapter’s zones flinch when hit.

Durability

It goes up a lot. The official numbers:

Item Before (0.6) Now (0.7)
Crude, Bronze, Steel and Frost weapons 80 120
Copper weapons 100 200
Iron weapons 120 250
Cobalt and Thorium weapons 150 350
Adamantite and Ancient Steel weapons 180 500
Crude pickaxes and hatchets 150 200
Copper pickaxes and hatchets 200 300
Iron pickaxes and hatchets 250 500
Cobalt and Thorium pickaxes and hatchets 325 700
Adamantite pickaxes and hatchets 400 1000

Heads-up: breaking blocks with a tool in the utility slot now does use up its durability.

World, blocks and glass

  • New blocks: Enkindled Copper, Enkindled Iron and Goblin Iron sets, plus goblin decor. Gold blocks have been reworked.
  • Glass in windows: the Lost Civilization, Kweebec, Tavern and Wind Temple windows now use clear glass. Village windows are no longer empty frames: they have tinted glass. The bottles on the Alchemy Bench also show clear glass. The notes don’t mention any new glass block recipe; we explain it in how to make glass in Hytale.
  • Foliage: it no longer breaks with weapons, and to get back a plant you placed yourself, use the Shears from the Farmer’s Workbench.
  • World events: you turn them on or off in the world settings (they’re off by default in Creative) and with the /worldevent command.
  • Commands: /portal replaces /fragment and /leave becomes /portal leave. You’ll find them in Hytale commands.
  • Saves: worlds take up less space, and the ones you already had update automatically the first time you load them.
  • Other: the watering can no longer works as a weapon, rain is heavier and some items have been renamed (for example, Web Rope becomes Spiderweb Rope).

Official Spanish and other languages

Update 7 adds Spanish and French as game languages. On top of that, the game no longer falls back to English when your system language has a regional variant (the notes use Canadian French as the example). More details in Hytale in Spanish.

Music, UI and cosmetics

There are 42 new music tracks spread across Zones 2, 3 and 4, a dot crosshair for weapons and a world map that uses much less memory. On the cosmetics side, there are more than 100 new options; the Scrap Arcanist and Junk Pilot sets unlock by playing the chapter. And the Cursebreaker Edition gives you an extra copy of the Standard Edition to gift for each early access chapter.

Mods and servers: what to do after updating

  • Back up your worlds before opening them in 0.7. They update automatically when loaded, and it’s not a good idea to take them back to 0.6.
  • Check your mods. 0.6 mods may need an update, especially Java plugins, because Update 7 changes the API (for example, ChunkAccessor.performBlockUpdate and WorldChunk.setTicking are gone). On CurseForge, look for a file tagged 0.7. More in how to install mods in Hytale and the best Hytale mods.
  • Mods with worlds: a mod can now include complete worlds, which show up in your world list (creating one asks for permission). The Mod Browser installs correctly even if you had copied the mod manually.
  • Dedicated server: it no longer starts if it would write its data inside the launcher’s install folder; it exits with code 11 and tells you how to move it (the --allow-install-dir option forces it, but the sensible thing is to use another folder). Saved view distance is capped at 32 chunks. You’ll find it in how to create a Hytale server and Hytale server plugins.
  • Playing with friends: the Online Play screen tells you whether your friends will be able to join and allows direct connections on the same network.

Patches 0.7.1 and 0.7.2

Two bug-fix patches arrived after launch. As of October 20, 2026, there is no 0.7.3.

  • 0.7.1 (October 13): fixes disconnects after 30 seconds in worlds hosted on Windows, the «already logged in» error when switching networks, and the disconnect when going through a portal with a projectile in the air. Also, the Mod Browser explains why it won’t let you install some mods, and the two Forgotten Temple teleporters cost the same, 25 Scraps and 1 Dubious Assembly (as of October 20, 2026, version 0.7.2).
  • 0.7.2 (October 14): fixes a crash that kicked everyone out of worlds coming from Update 6 and another one on Linux, and changes the Backpack Upgrade II: it’s now crafted after repairing the Compressor with 150 Scraps, 10 Spider Silk and 1 Voidtaken Grizzly Hide (as of October 20, 2026, version 0.7.2), without requiring 100 memories.

These costs may change again with upcoming patches. If your world comes from Update 6, don’t play it on a version older than 0.7.2. You’ll find all the changes, the most common issues and the mods that break in Hytale 0.7.1 and 0.7.2, and the backpack in our Goblin Lab guide.
