The 12 best Hytale mods (2026)

The best Hytale mods grouped by use: map, on-screen info, combat, RPG progression, cosmetics, building and servers. Plus a note about version 0.7.

Updated: 24 Oct 2026

The best Hytale mods right now are BetterMap, which makes the map remember everything you explore; EyeSpy, which tells you what you’re looking at; Perfect Parries, which adds depth to combat; and, for long playthroughs, Endgame & QoL or a progression system like RPG Leveling And Stats or MMO Skill Tree & Abilities. They’re all free, and we picked them with their versions for Hytale 0.6. Heads-up: as of October 12, 2026 the current version is 0.7 (Update 7), so before installing them, check that each one has a file for 0.7; we explain how below.

This list brings together the 12 Hytale mods we have on Holymod, grouped by use. We chose them because they’re downloaded from their official page, were up to date with 0.6 and have active authors. Since Hytale is still in Early Access, each mod version is usually tied to a specific game version: when Hytale updates, wait for the mod to update too and back up your worlds.

Heads-up: Update 7 (0.7) compatibility

Update 7 («Chapter I: Out of the Breach») came out on October 12, 2026 as version 0.7. According to its official notes, it changes the plugin API, so mods made for 0.6 may need an update from their author, especially Java plugins (on this list, for example, RPG Leveling And Stats or AdminUI). The «Tested on» column shows the version we reviewed them with, not that they work on 0.7.

  • Check for the 0.7 tag in each mod’s Files tab on CurseForge, or in the game version filter.
  • Back up your worlds before opening them in 0.7: they update automatically the first time they load, and you shouldn’t take them back to 0.6 afterwards.
  • If a mod doesn’t have a 0.7 version yet, disable it in that world and wait for the author to update it.

We’ll keep reviewing the mod pages as new versions come out. You’ll find everything new in the game in our Hytale Update 7 guide.

Map and on-screen info

BetterMap

It turns Hytale’s map into a persistent map that saves what you explore, and adds a cave mode, waypoints with teleporting and a shared map on servers. It’s open source and was updated for 0.6; check whether it already has a file for 0.7. Each mod version is tied to a specific Hytale version and, on servers, teleporting depends on the permissions the admin sets up.

EyeSpy

A small on-screen panel tells you what you’re looking at: block name, source mod, chest contents, furnace times and creature health. It’s very lightweight and almost essential if you play with lots of content mods. It doesn’t have config options yet, and mining and farming info has been announced but isn’t available yet.

Advanced Item Info

A searchable window that lists every item in the game and your mods with its hidden stats: quality, tier, durability, fuel and crafting station. It’s super lightweight and doesn’t affect gameplay. It only opens with a command, with no key bound, and it doesn’t show full recipes.

Combat and progression

Perfect Parries

It turns blocking into a timed parry system: if you nail it, you negate the damage, reflect some of it back, break the enemy’s posture and open a counterattack window. It has its own animations and effects that make parries very readable, and it gets updated often. It takes practice, because the timing punishes mistakes, and it’s still on 0.9.x versions, so the balance may change.

RPG Leveling And Stats

A plugin that turns Hytale into an RPG: experience and levels, six classes with passives, stat allocation, level-based zones and monsters that scale in health and damage. It’s highly configurable and includes tools for servers, like leaderboards and admin commands. It raises the base game’s difficulty, especially on the higher presets, and you should back up your world before updating the game or the mod.

MMO Skill Tree & Abilities

MMO-style progression: 20 skills that level up as you use them, 32 active abilities, quests, around 200 achievements and mastery layers, with a visual admin panel and a Spanish translation. It requires Ziggfreed’s CommonLib (installed separately if you don’t use the CurseForge app), and some abilities need Perfect Utils. The curve is long: getting a skill to level 100 takes a lot of time.

Endgame & QoL

A big endgame expansion: three multi-phase bosses, dungeons, a new dimension, rideable pets and over 130 items, with a Spanish translation and settings from an in-game menu. It needs at least Update 5, and each version is tied to a specific game version. It ships with anonymous stats (HStats) enabled by default, which you can turn off, and if you use it on a public server, its license asks you to credit it in the server description or message.

RPG Leveling And Stats and MMO Skill Tree & Abilities are two different progression systems. Their pages say nothing about using them together, so the safest bet is to pick one; if you want to try both, do it in a new world.

Cosmetics and customization

Aures Livestock Skins

A texture pack that gives nine farm animals over 150 random patterns, with rare variants, without touching models or behavior. It’s compatible with other animal mods like Celly’s Baby Animals. Each version is made for a specific game version, and you have to enable it in every world where you want to use it.

Aures Horse Skins

From the same author, it gives horses over 70 random coats, manes and tails and improves their eating, sleeping and running animations without changing their behavior. It pairs well with the other Aures packs. It doesn’t affect horses already in the world and may clash with mods that change horse models or textures.

HayHay’s Mob Cosmetics

Over 200 cosmetics for your character inspired by Hytale creatures: mob heads, horns, ears, hairstyles, clothing and capes, which you pick from a handy screen. It depends on the Wardrobe mod and has far fewer downloads than the rest of this list.

Building

Elemental Church Pack

Six elemental-themed ruined church prefabs (blood, storm, azure, emerald, void and diamond) to place in your world with the Paste tool. It’s lightweight and has no dependencies. It requires Creative Mode or operator permissions and doesn’t install like a mod: you have to copy the files into the prefabs folder.

Servers

AdminUI

A plugin for admins that handles the whitelist, bans, mutes, players, warps, backups and stats through windows instead of commands, with per-module permissions to split up tasks. It’s open source and from a very active author. It doesn’t make much sense in single-player, and double-check permissions before giving anyone access to backups or bans.

How to install them

Most of them install from the CurseForge app, which also downloads their dependencies, or manually by copying the mod file into the game’s mods folder and enabling it in the world. The exceptions are prefabs like Elemental Church Pack, which go in their own folder, and server plugins, which the admin installs. We explain it in the guide to installing mods in Hytale.

Frequently asked questions

Which Hytale mods should I install first?

BetterMap and EyeSpy: they’re lightweight, don’t change the game’s balance and improve any playthrough. After that, add Perfect Parries if you enjoy combat, or a progression mod if you want long-term goals.

Do mods break when Hytale updates?

It can happen. Hytale is in Early Access, and each version of many mods is tied to a specific game version. With Update 7 (0.7) it’s especially likely, because the plugin API changes. Back up your worlds and wait for the author to release a 0.7 file before loading a modded world.

Do they work on multiplayer servers?

Many do: BetterMap, Perfect Parries, RPG Leveling And Stats, MMO Skill Tree, Endgame & QoL, AdminUI and Aures Livestock Skins list server or multiplayer support. For the rest, there’s no clear info on their page.

Are they free and safe?

All 12 are free. Only download them from their official page or the CurseForge app, and avoid reupload sites that may offer old or modified versions.

Are there Hytale mods in Spanish?

Some include a Spanish translation, like Endgame & QoL and MMO Skill Tree & Abilities. In the rest, there’s little text or it’s in English.
