Yes: since Update 7 (October 12, 2026), Hytale has an official Spanish translation. The «Chapter I: Out of the Breach» update (version 0.7) added Spanish and French to the game’s list of languages. You just have to pick it in the settings. You no longer need to install community translations to play the base game in Spanish. We explain how to change the language, what happens with mods and servers, and what to do if Spanish doesn’t show up.
How to set Hytale to Spanish
The language is set in the game client, not on the server: each player sees the game in their own language even when playing on the same server as others.
- Update the game from the official launcher to Update 7 (0.7) or later.
- Open Hytale and go to Settings.
- Under Language, choose Español.
According to the official Update 7 notes, the game no longer falls back to English when your system language is a regional variant (for example, Canadian French). Even so, if you see text in English, check that you’ve selected Spanish in the game itself.
Which languages Hytale supports
Hytale launched in Early Access on January 13, 2026, in English only. Before Update 7, the official accessibility page listed English, Simplified Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and Ukrainian as available, and left Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish and Turkish for later. Update 7 brings Spanish and French. The official notes say «Spanish» without specifying whether there are separate variants for Spain and Latin America: we’ll check the language menu and update this guide.
The Spanish translation isn’t yet 100% complete across all text: in an Early Access game, new text arrives with every patch and the translation lags behind. If you see something in English, it’s most likely recent content.
How Hytale gets translated: Crowdin
Hypixel Studios uses Crowdin, a collaborative translation platform. In an interview published on the Crowdin blog, the team explained that new game text is uploaded every Thursday so translators and proofreaders can start working, and that contributors come from the community, although the studio and the proofreaders have the final say. If you spot translation errors and want to help, look for the project link in Hytale’s official channels so you don’t end up on an unofficial copy.
What about community translations?
Before Update 7, the only way to play in Spanish was with fan-made packs on CurseForge, such as the Spanish Translation – Traducción en español mod. With official Spanish you no longer need them for the base game, and it’s better to uninstall them: a pack built for Update 6 can mix old text with new or cause problems after the update.
- If the pack was installed as a mod, remove it from the mods folder or from the Mod Manager (we explain how in how to install mods in Hytale).
- If the pack replaced language files, the launcher update itself usually overwrites them. If you notice odd text, verify or repair the installation from the launcher.
Mods and servers in Spanish
Mods have their own text. Even if you set the game to Spanish, a mod will only appear translated if its author has localized it. The same goes for each server’s own messages.
