Holyfix help for Euro Truck Simulator 2
Is ETS2 crashing on load, is a mod not showing up or does the map have holes? Run it through Holyfix: load the Euro Truck Simulator 2 game.log.txt and in a second you’ll see which mods are active, which one throws errors, which are flagged for another game version, which dependencies you’re missing and what to check first. It’s free and your file never leaves your computer.
How to use Holyfix
View tutorial- Choose your gameAt the top, next to the Holyfix logo, you choose the game. Each game has its own analyzer.
- Find the log fileThe game writes everything that happens while you play to a text file. In ETS2 it's called game.log.txt; Help shows where it is on each system.
- Load it right after the problemDrop it into Holyfix before you open the game again (it's wiped every time you open it). If the game closed by itself, also add the game.crash.txt from the same folder.
- Read the summaryWe tell you in one sentence what's going on and where to start. Your file never leaves your computer.
- Fix the problems one by oneIn Problems, do what “What to do” says for the first one, mark it as done and move on to the next. They're sorted from most to least likely.
- Sort your modsIn Load order we tell you which mods to move and where. Do it in the game's Mod Manager: the mod at the top wins over the ones below.
- Don't worry about version warningsA mod being marked for another game version isn't always a problem: many work anyway. Only check them if the problem continues.
- Try againOpen the game, repeat what was failing and load the new log to check it's fixed.
- If it still fails, ask for helpShare your diagnosis with a link to ask for help on a forum or on Discord, or press “Holyfix didn't help me” and we'll review it.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the game.log.txt?
On Windows: Documents › Euro Truck Simulator 2 › game.log.txt. The game overwrites it every time it starts, so load it right after the problem, before launching the game again. On Steam Deck or Linux it’s in ~/.local/share/Euro Truck Simulator 2/, and if your Documents folder is in OneDrive, look in OneDrive › Documents › Euro Truck Simulator 2.
On other systems:
- Steam Deck / Linux:
~/.local/share/Euro Truck Simulator 2/ - macOS:
~/Library/Application Support/Euro Truck Simulator 2/ - OneDrive:
%USERPROFILE%\OneDrive\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2
Where is game.crash.txt and what is it for?
It's in the same folder as game.log.txt (Documents › Euro Truck Simulator 2). The game only writes it when it crashes, and it keeps several crashes in a row. Holyfix uses the one that matches your game.log.txt and tells you what caused the crash: a mod, the sound or radio, the graphics card driver or another program.
What does Holyfix check?
- Your active mods and their order, exactly as the game loaded them.
- Errors explained in plain English: missing files, clashing mods, mods rejected for their version, unconnected maps…
- Compatibility: it compares each mod with the version its author states, and warns you when a mod needs another one you don’t have active.
- A recommended load order by groups, ready to copy.
- Mods we don’t know yet: you can ask us to review them.

Is it safe? Do you upload my file?
It’s safe. The file is read in your browser and never sent to any server. We only receive what you choose to send: a request to review a mod (its Steam Workshop number or file name), your feedback and, if you say yes at the end, anonymous statistics. Learn more.
Does it work with TruckersMP?
Yes, for seeing your mods and errors. Keep in mind TruckersMP only allows some mods: check its rules. Errors from TruckersMP’s own files are listed separately because you can’t fix them yourself.
Can it check a Steam Workshop collection?
Yes. Open the “Check a Steam collection” tab, paste the collection link and Holyfix tells you which mods were removed, which aren’t for ETS2, which version each one is for and which dependencies are missing, before you install anything.
Why does it say a mod is for another version when it works for me?
We use the version the mod’s author states on its official page. Many mods keep working on newer versions without changes; if it works for you, you can ignore the warning.
One of my mods isn’t recognized. What can I do?
Click “Ask us to review it”. If the mod is legal and has an official source, we add it to Holymod and Holyfix will recognize it from then on.
Is Holyfix free?
Yes, it’s free, with no sign-up and nothing to install.
