What this mod does

The 1995 Caterham 7 Super Sprint is the version with the 1,700 cc Ford Crossflow engine: about 133 hp in a car weighing just 540 kg. Ben O’Bro, who owned one for years, made the model, textures and sound, and JackCY handled the documentation and physics.

What’s included

  • Three versions that drive the same: left-hand drive, right-hand drive and Clamshell, with long fenders for a more classic look.
  • Physics using measurements from the real car, wind tunnel data, a dyno curve and owner feedback; open differential and no rear anti-roll bar.
  • Since 2025, turn signal, reverse, fog and hazard lights on the dashboard, a paint shop with stripes, and mirrors fixed for VR.
  • PSD templates for liveries.

Who it’s for

For anyone who enjoys light, analog cars. In the low gears it’s nimble; higher up it loses pull due to drag and front lift. The left- and right-hand-drive versions stay online-compatible with 1.35.

Version

Version 1.52 (August 2025) fixes missing files and adds the wiper to the left-hand-drive version. The author asks you to delete the previous version before installing.

Unofficial mod made by a fan. Names, logos and liveries belong to their respective owners; neither the author nor Holymod is affiliated with them.

Common problems

Can I race online with people who have the previous version?

The left- and right-hand-drive versions are compatible with 1.35; the Clamshell isn't, because its physics changed.

The dashboard lights don't work

They need a Custom Shaders Patch extension that Content Manager downloads automatically.

Is there a better sound?
