What this mod does
Caterham 420R / R300 Racecars brings together two racing versions of the classic British two-seater, made by Ben O’Bro, author of the Caterham 7 Super Sprint and the Caterham Academy 2020. It’s a lightweight mod, about 35 MB, rated 4.9 out of 5.
What’s included
- 2020 Caterham 420R race car, with a sequential gearbox.
- 2008 Caterham R300, with a manual gearbox, added as a bonus car in version 1.5.
- New 3D model and textures by Ben O’Bro.
- Research and physics by JackCY.
- Sound based on the Kunos Praga.
Status
The author says the physics are the same as in earlier versions, that they’re still in development and that he’ll update them later. Some users mention that the tires take a while to warm up. He also warns that the R300 was made quickly and has a glitch in the nose livery.
Liveries
There’s a separate race skin pack that works for both cars, and a PSD template on the author’s website so you can make your own.
Tips
If you like light, analog cars, try it on technical tracks like Brands Hatch. The author asks you to share only the official link and not to modify or reupload the car without permission.
Unofficial fan-made mod. All names, logos and liveries belong to their respective owners; neither the author nor Holymod is affiliated with them.
