What this mod does
The Caterham Academy is the car from Caterham’s entry-level cup, designed for drivers who are just starting to race. This mod recreates the 2020 spec. Ben O’Bro made the model and textures, JackCY handled the documentation and physics, and the sound is by Kunos.
What’s included
- Caterham Academy with right-hand drive and a speedometer in miles.
- Detailed cockpit: VBox with cables, timing and GPS box, fire extinguisher, chassis-mounted cameras and a molded bucket seat.
- Lights and warning lights per the cup regulations, with no shift lights.
- Separate livery pack, PSD template and license plate with its font.
Who it’s for
For online races or leagues with identical, low-powered cars, where whoever carries speed best wins. The mod page notes that it’s used in CaterhamRacer races, with commentators.
Version
Version 1.5 (February 2021) rebuilt part of the model for better performance, with fewer objects and better LODs. The physics didn’t change and the left-hand-drive version was removed, so you can delete the old folder. In that update the author also announced a 420R.

How to install it
- Delete the folder from the previous version.
- Go to the Caterham Academy 2020 page on OverTake.gg, log in and download the file (about 49 MB).
- Drag it into Content Manager or copy the car folder to assettocorsa/content/cars.
- If you want more liveries, download the skin pack linked on the mod page.

Common problems
Can I use it online?
Yes; the May 2020 update was released compatible with servers running the previous version.
Where's the left-hand-drive version?
It was removed in 1.5; only the right-hand-drive one remains.
Does it have its own sound?
No, it uses a Kunos sound, as the mod page states.
