De Tomaso Pantera Gr. 4 (GT4) for Assetto Corsa

What this mod does

The De Tomaso Pantera Gr. 4 is the racing version of the sports car with Italian styling and an American heart. It runs a Ford 351 Boss V8 bored out to 5,800 cc that, according to the author, made close to 500 hp. The mod page says Porsche asked the FIA to raise the Group 4 minimum weight to 1,250 kg because of its power.

What’s included

• Pop-up headlights, animated wipers and rain on the windshield.
• Full damage and dirt, plus working suspensions.
• New sound based on Ford GT40 videos.
• Liveries by Andy-R, tires and textures by luathas, and a 2K texture version for modest PCs.

Who it’s for

For ’70s GT races alongside the same author’s Alfa Romeo GTAm or Maserati Tipo 61. With nearly 500 hp of American V8, it demands respect on the exit of slow corners.

Version

1.11 (July 2020) renamed the folder so it could be used in SRS races, introduced new suspensions and tires, raised the center of gravity and roll centers, so you should review your setups, and added details for Custom Shaders Patch. To use the 2K textures, rename the skins folder instead of overwriting it.

How to install it

1. Go to the Pantera Gr. 4 page on OverTake.gg and log in.
2. Download the file (about 106 MB).
3. Drag it into Content Manager or copy the car folder into assettocorsa/content/cars.
4. If your PC is modest, swap the skins folder for the 2K one by renaming it (don't overwrite it).
