What this mod does
DumbAI is a Lua app for Assetto Corsa that changes how the AI handles pit stops in single-player races. Despite the name, its goal is the exact opposite: to make your rivals plan tires and fuel like they would in an endurance race. Every one of its ratings is five stars.
What’s included
- Pit strategies calculated from the default compound and your race rules: tires only, tires and refueling, mandatory compounds or mandatory refueling, plus the game’s original behavior.
- Alternative strategies: some rivals pick softer or harder compounds depending on their grid position.
- Blue flags: lapped cars brake and move aside to let you through.
- Yellow flags for slow cars on track, plus pit stop and flag messages.
- A weather manager with a sometimes inaccurate forecast and, since 1.5, the same weather for the whole weekend.
- An engineer window showing how many laps of fuel you have left and data on the three cars ahead of and behind you.
Requirements
It needs CSP 0.3.0 preview 212 or later with extended physics, and it doesn’t work with encrypted cars. Your settings are saved to .ini files so you can reuse them.
Tips
If you see incidents under blue flags, the author and users recommend lowering the aggression or raising the Caution setting. It’s ideal for long races with mandatory stops.

How to install it
- Go to the DumbAI page on OverTake.gg and log in.
- Download the file (1.5 MB).
- Unzip it into the assettocorsa/apps/lua folder.
- Enable CSP extended physics and start a single-player race.
- Open the DumbAI app, pick your strategy and save your settings to an .ini file if you want to reuse them.

Common problems
Does it work with any car?
Not with encrypted cars or encrypted tires, according to the author.
Does it work in multiplayer?
The mod page describes it for single-player races.
The AI crashes when letting me through. What can I do?
Lower the aggression or raise the Caution setting; one reviewer saw a big improvement that way.
