What this mod does

The Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon recreates the 2002–2003 second-generation (GG) wagon, the one with the round headlights known as the “bugeye”. It’s an all-wheel-drive compact with the EJ20 turbo boxer engine. Stereo made the model and textures, and Aphidgod did the physics, based on data from his own WRX STi.

What’s included

  • Stock version and S1 version with 17-inch Enkei RPF1 wheels, TD05-16G turbo, Cobb intake and exhaust, Accessport tune and STI springs.
  • Tires by mclarenf1papa, driver animations by Gary Paterson and extra textures by A3DR.
  • Headlights with a refraction effect and fog lights that cast light (numpad 7, with CSP).
  • 2002 and 2003 factory colors and PSD templates.

Who it’s for

For anyone who wants a 2000s Japanese street car for mountain roads. The author recommends a separate sound mod, the one for the tuned Impreza GD.

Version

Version 1.2 (April 2021) tweaked inertia and tire curves and packed the data for online play. It works without Custom Shaders Patch, but the lights may look wrong; all features require version 0.1.161 or later.

Unofficial mod made by a fan. Names, logos and liveries belong to their respective owners; neither the author nor Holymod is affiliated with them.

Common problems

The headlights look weird

They use a refraction method that can break without Custom Shaders Patch; install it (0.1.161 or later).

How do I turn on the fog lights?

With numpad 7; the projected light requires CSP.

Does it have its own sound?

It uses Kunos's Porsche 718 Cayman S sound; the author recommends the tuned Impreza GD sound mod.
