What this mod does

Watkins Glen International, «The Glen», is the classic New York State circuit. LilSki, one of the most respected track authors in Assetto Corsa, built it from 2014 aerial LIDAR data and modeled it as it was in 2017 and 2018. It has over 180,000 downloads and a 4.93 out of 5 rating from more than 360 reviews.

What’s included

  • Four layouts: the long and short courses, plus classic versions of both without the Bus Stop chicane.
  • 43 pit boxes and working AI; one review calls it some of the most competent AI it has seen, even in multiclass races.
  • Dynamic rubber groove, track map, TV cameras and time attack mode.
  • Generator lights that are always on, so all four layouts support night racing.
  • Custom Shaders Patch support with custom lights.

Credits

The additional cameras are by Leonardo Ratafiá, the pit objects by llamafett, the blimp by Tberg and the custom shader by Stereo.

Installation

Version 1.1 no longer needs custom shaders or a MODS folder: it installs like any other track. The author recommends deleting earlier versions first, which included endurance layouts that have since been removed.

How to install it

  1. Delete any earlier version of Watkins Glen you have installed.
  2. Go to the mod page on OverTake.gg and log in.
  3. Download version 1.1 (about 284 MB).
  4. Drag the file onto the Content Manager window and click Install, or copy the track folder into assettocorsa/content/tracks.
  5. Pick one of the four layouts and set up a race against the AI, by day or by night.

Common problems

Can I race at night?

Yes. The generator lights are always on in all four layouts.

Does it need CSP?

It's not required; 1.1 installs without extra shaders and uses CSP for the lights.

Where are the endurance layouts?

They were removed in version 1.1.
