What this mod does
The DLC Wrecker is a paid add-on by Jon Ruda that turns his trucks into tow trucks. It’s a «mod for mods»: it doesn’t work on its own, but adds a wrecker chassis to the trucks from his store.
What’s included
- A Wrecker chassis: in the game you pick whichever cab you like and fit that chassis.
- Wreckers for towing vehicles that show up on the Freight Market.
- Detailed models and textures, with the feel of driving a heavy long-wheelbase workhorse.
- Lots of accessories and custom cargo.
Compatible trucks
You need at least one of these trucks from the author: Freightshaker Classic XL, Pete 389 Glider, KW W900 Highway Killer, Pete 362 Cabover, Freightshaker Cascadia 125, Freightshaker Coronado SD, Pete 579 NG or WS 4900. A single purchase covers one or all of them.
How to buy it
It costs $30 and you pay on byjonruda.com; the form checks that you own a compatible truck. Within a few minutes it shows up in your account under «My modifications», with video, picture and text installation guides.
Version
Version 2.6, from August 31, 2026, works from 1.58 to 1.61. The website doesn’t give the file size or a changelog.

How to install it
- Make sure you own at least one of Jon Ruda's compatible trucks.
- Go to the DLC Wrecker page on byjonruda.com and complete the purchase.
- Within a few minutes the mod appears in your account under "My modifications", along with the installation guides.
- Copy the .scs files to Documents/American Truck Simulator/mod and enable them with your Jon Ruda truck in the Mod Manager.
- At a service shop or the dealer, pick the cab and fit the Wrecker chassis.
- Look for towing jobs on the Freight Market.
