What this mod does
Jon Ruda’s Freightshaker Classic XL recreates the Freightliner Classic XL, the long-nose truck that was an icon of American roads in the nineties and 2000s. The altered name is the author’s habit, but it’s the truck you’ll recognize.
What it includes
- 10 cabs and 8 chassis, with the FLD120 as a chassis option.
- Standard or custom interior, with full animation.
- Engines and sounds by Kapitan Kriechbaum, and transmissions from 6 to 18 speeds.
- Lots of accessories, a wheel pack, license plates and steering wheels from the DLCs.
- Compatibility with SiSL’s Mega Pack and the Cabin Accessories DLC.
- Paint job pack and its own template.
How to buy it
You pay on the author’s website and within a few minutes the download is in your byjonruda.com account, where you also get the updates. Version 10.10, from September 19, 2026, works from 1.58 to 1.61. It’s also sold as part of several of the author’s bundles.
Who it’s for
For fans of classic American trucks who want a very complete model and don’t mind paying. If you’d rather have something free in the same style, check out the Peterbilt 389 Rework or the Kenworth T660. Before installing, read up on how to install mods in ATS.

Requirements

How to install it
- Go to the Freightshaker Classic XL page on byjonruda.com and complete the purchase.
- Log in to your account on the website and download version 10.10.
- Copy the .scs file to Documents/American Truck Simulator/mod.
- Enable it in the Mod Manager; if you use SiSL's Mega Pack, keep it enabled too.
- Find the truck at the corresponding dealer, configure it and buy it.
- To update, download the new version from your account.
Common problems
Why is it called Freightshaker?
It's the name the author uses; the model recreates the Freightliner Classic XL.
Do I need SiSL's Mega Pack?
No. The author says it's compatible with it, not that it requires it.
Who made the sounds?
The engines and sounds are by Kapitan Kriechbaum, according to the mod's page.
