What this mod does

Peterbilt 389 Rework doesn’t add a new truck: it reworks the Peterbilt 389 that comes with the game and adds a solid catalog of parts and interior options. It’s ideal if you like the stock 389 but find it lacking when it comes to customization.

What it changes

  • Parts inspired by the newest model, the 389X.
  • Several grilles, Donaldson air cleaners, bumpers and side skirts.
  • Fenders, battery boxes, polished front fenders, steps and rear boxes, plus cab-mounted rear lights.
  • New engine sounds for the Paccar and Cummins options.
  • Eight interiors: customizable Ultra Ride variants and the author’s own designs.

Version and compatibility

The author says this version is compatible with ATS 1.58 to 1.61. For versions between 1.51 and 1.57, he keeps a separate release on the Workshop. Since it modifies the original truck, it may clash with other mods that also change the stock Peterbilt 389.

Author’s note

With the custom grille, the low and high beam headlight masks are swapped, and the author admits it can’t be fixed. If it bothers you, use a different grille.

According to the author, his mods are free and only published on Steam Workshop.

Common problems

Is it a separate truck?

No. It modifies the stock Peterbilt 389, so your current 389s also get the new parts and options.

I have ATS 1.57 or earlier

The author has a separate release for 1.51-1.57; this version is only for 1.58-1.61.

The headlights switch wrongly between low and high beam

It's a known bug with the custom grille that the author can't fix. Use another grille if it affects you.
