What this mod does
This mod adds the 1997 International 9800i to the game, a cab-over-engine truck (cabover) that’s very rare on American Truck Simulator’s roads, where long noses rule. You buy it like any other truck in the game, at the International dealer.
Where it comes from
The original model is the work of odd_fellow, who gave explicit permission to publish it on Steam Workshop. Harven cleaned up its errors and warnings and added steering wheel adjustment and the trailer brake valve animation; Lucasi_ touched up files and icons, Kriechbaum provides the engines, and FASTER CGO handled the update to version 1.56. It includes paint jobs by Pauly and Lucasi.

Who it’s for

Version
The authors say the current version is tested on ATS 1.56. On later versions the game may flag it as outdated; many players still use it, but if it gives you errors, wait for an update. Old paint jobs made for version 1.x need touching up to work with 2.0 or later.

How to install it
- Open the mod's page on Steam Workshop with your Steam account.
- Click "Subscribe" and wait for Steam to download the file (about 712 MB).
- Launch American Truck Simulator and go to the Mod Manager.
- Enable "International 9800 i" and confirm the changes.
- Load your save and go to an International dealer to buy it.
- If you use other truck or sound mods, try adjusting the load order if a conflict shows up.
Common problems
Does it work on ATS 1.61?
The authors only say it's tested on 1.56. It may work, but the game will flag it as an outdated mod and it could cause errors until it's updated.
Where do I buy it in the game?
At the International dealer, like the brand's other trucks.
My old paint jobs look wrong
The authors warn that paint jobs made for versions before 2.0 have to be edited with the new template.
