What this mod does
GM transmission mod by 0xferd | v1.61+ adds General Motors automatic transmissions to the four cars of the Road Trip: Ford DLC. It’s by the same author as the Ford Road Trip Edit Pack, and was published October 1, 2026.
Transmissions by car
- 1967 Mustang and 2006 Crown Victoria: 4L60-E, 5L40-E, 5L50-E and 6L50.
- 2023 F-150: 4L80-E, 6L50, 8L90 and 10L90.
- 2024 Bronco: 4L80-E, 6L50, 8L45 and 10L90.
Each transmission has its in-game price (from $1,800 for the 4L60-E to $6,800 for the 10L90), its converter ratio, its shift time and its real gear ratios; all unlock from level 0. The available final drives are 3.25, 3.55, 3.73 and 4.10.
Author’s tips
For more realism, enable real automatic mode in Options > Controls; the keys are in Options > Keys & Buttons, Transmissions category. He recommends combining it with his Ford Road Trip Edit Pack, the Allison Transmission Megapack Revamped and the [MDR] Mustang, F-150 and Bronco sounds (the latter aren’t on Holymod because they use recordings from other games).
It needs the Road Trip: Ford DLC. It weighs 102 KB and has over 600 subscribers.

How to install it
- Open the "GM transmission mod by 0xferd | v1.61+" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
- Go to the Mod Manager in your profile and enable "GM transmission mod by 0xferd | v1.61+".
- Open My Cars, pick the Ford and click Configure > Transmission to choose a GM transmission and the final drive.
- If you want a realistic automatic, enable real automatic mode in Options > Controls.
Common problems
Which transmissions does the F-150 get?
4L80-E, 6L50, 8L90 and 10L90.
Do I need to level up to buy them?
No, all unlock from level 0.
Does it change the engines?
No, it only adds transmissions and final drives.
