What this mod does
Long Drive Short Rest changes the game’s hours of service. In ATS you can drive for 14 hours and then you have to rest for 10. With this mod by MacCekko you can drive up to 19 hours and only rest 5 between shifts. It’s handy for running long routes with fewer sleep stops, without removing the fatigue system entirely.
Origin
It’s an updated version of Sleep Less, Work More by МаЯоLа®. MacCekko says he has permission to maintain it. The Euro Truck Simulator 2 version is a separate mod by another author.
Version and load order
- The September 29, 2026 changelog note lists it as compatible with ATS 1.61.
- The author usually puts it at the very top of the Mod Manager so it takes priority. That’s not mandatory: if something conflicts, try moving it down.
- It’s marked as multiplayer-ready (Convoy).
Known issues
Several users report conflicts with money or XP mods. Both touch economy settings and, according to the author, they can’t be merged. Whichever has higher priority in the list wins. One player says the game was asking him for 9 hours of sleep. He fixed it by changing the values to 18 hours of driving and 6 of rest, but the author points out that this tweak isn’t official.

How to install it
- Open the “Long Drive Short Rest for ATS” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
- Open the Mod Manager in your profile and enable “Long Drive Short Rest for ATS”.
- Place it at the very top of the active mods list to give it priority (if there are conflicts, try lower down).
- Disable other mods that change driving or rest hours.
