What this mod does
Volvo VNL 2025 – 860 Off-road Cab & Chassis Addon, by sbg2005, expands the Volvo VNL 2025 in American Truck Simulator 1.61 with multi-axle chassis, an off-road cab and parts for heavy-duty work.
What it adds
- Eight chassis: on-road 8×6/6 and 10×8/6, plus Off-road 8×6 and 10×8 for the new cab, each in long and short versions. The front axle, the first rear axle and the last one steer, up to 50°, and all rear axles are driven.
- 860 Off-road cab: raised wheel arches, reworked hood and bumper, steps, a 275-gallon fuel tank and its own side skirts.
- Off-road wheels about 1.3 m tall, for the 860 Off-road only.
- A tuned engine called «870» (it doesn’t have 870 hp) and a 12-speed transmission with a 2.70 differential and a three-stage retarder.
- Bull bars adapted from SCS’s VNL 2018 and «Custom Dash» dashboards.
Levels and compatibility
Chassis unlock at level 23, engine and transmission at level 20, and cabs at level 25. Mods that touch the same VNL 2025 files may conflict: the one higher up wins. Before removing the mod, sell or reconfigure any trucks that use its parts.

How to install it
- Open the "Volvo VNL 2025 - 860 Off-road Cab & Chassis Addon" page on Steam Workshop and click "Subscribe".
- Launch American Truck Simulator and wait for Steam to finish downloading the mod.
- Open your profile's Mod Manager and enable "Volvo VNL 2025 - 860 Off-road Cab & Chassis Addon".
- Buy one of the prebuilt trucks at the Volvo dealer or configure a VNL 2025 with a new chassis.
- Wheels, engine, transmission, fenders, bull bars and catwalk are fitted in the shop.
- For the new dashboard, choose an interior ending in "- Custom Dash".

Common problems
Do the off-road wheels fit any VNL?
No, only the 860 Off-road cab, which in turn only fits the Off-road chassis.
Does it change the stock trucks?
No. It adds new parts and chassis; the stock VNLs stay the same.
What level unlocks it?
Chassis at 23, engine and transmission at 20, and cabs and prebuilt trucks at 25.
What happens if I remove the mod?
Trucks with its parts need it: sell or reconfigure them first.
