What this mod does
M3 St Helens recreates Mount St. Helens, the volcano in Washington State (USA), at 80% of its real size and with its current terrain. In real life you haven’t been able to drive up it since the 1980 eruption, so this map is your way to do it. It has no paved roads: it’s all off-road, rally and trail driving.
What’s included
- A 23 km endurance race and a 6 km rally hill climb on wide tracks.
- Three rally tracks: rock and dirt (2 km), glacier ice (2.5 km) and sand (6.9 km, with a jump over a canyon).
- A 1.6 by 1 km trail area and a trail route up to the crater dome.
- MegaCrawl: 25 km of free crawling with red checkpoint markers, 12 repair points and 4 starting points.
- Tracks along the crater rim, dry waterfalls, canyons and glacier crevasses.
Multiplayer
The author uses it on his own multiplayer server and includes a race across the crater glacier designed for playing with more people, plus a water plane for flood escape challenges with a flood mod.
Release notes
Version 1.03 from August 11, 2026 makes it compatible with 0.39: it removes dozens of floating rocks, redoes the glacier ice, adds clouds and fog, and puts a finish line in the crater. If you’re looking for paved roads, you won’t find any: the author rules them out to keep the map’s wild character.

How to install it
- Open the M3 St Helens page on the official BeamNG Repository.
- Click Download to get the .zip, or subscribe from the in-game Repository (Subscribe button).
- If you download it manually, copy the .zip, without unzipping it, into the mods folder inside your BeamNG.drive user folder (Documents > BeamNG.drive > current > mods).
- Launch the game and check in the Mod Manager that it's enabled.
- Pick the map in Freeroam and use the spawn points to get to the tracks, the crater or the MegaCrawl.

Common problems
Does it have paved roads?
No. The author keeps it as an off-road and rally map and is working on another map with highways.

Not quite: it recreates Mount St. Helens at 80% of its size, with its current terrain.
