As of November 3, 2026, the best car mods for BeamNG.drive are on the official beamng.com repository and are complete vehicles with their own Jbeam physics: the 1976 Ibishu Claria (4.95 out of 5 with over 200 votes), the 2020 Hirochi CCF roadster, the Gavril Vertex NA2 with over 100 configurations, the Autobello Aria 1972 compact and the Ibishu King Gym off-roader. All of them are free, install with one click from the in-game Repository and are updated for 0.39; the current version is 0.40 and most authors haven’t confirmed it yet. Here are 18 car mods by type, with version, size and warnings.
Which version of BeamNG.drive you need
According to the official BeamNG website, the current version is 0.40, released on October 19, 2026, with four patches (up to 0.40.4) announced on October 29. Almost every mod page in this guide lists 0.39 (July 2026) as the latest version declared by the author. Keep two things in mind:
- Major updates disable your mods. With 0.40 the game turns them all off and you have to re-enable them from the Mod Manager, after checking the Repository for a new version.
- A 0.39 mod usually works on 0.40, but it may lose lights or parts. If something looks wrong, clear the cache from the launcher before blaming the mod.
Why having their own Jbeam matters
In BeamNG.drive every vehicle is a structure of nodes and beams (the Jbeam file) that defines how much it weighs, how it flexes and how it deforms in a crash. A car built from scratch, with its own Jbeam, behaves like what it is: the Blackpool Superlite weighs about 600 kg and you can feel it. Conversions put a 3D model from another game on top of an official car’s structure: they look fine in the vehicle selector, but they deform and drive like the donor car and aren’t allowed on the official repository. Holymod only lists cars from beamng.com.
How to install them from the official repository
- In the game, open the Repository, search for the car and click Subscribe: it downloads and enables itself. The Subscribe button on the beamng.com website does the same.
- Manually: download the
.zipwith «Download Now» and copy it, without unzipping, into themodsfolder of your user folder (on Windows,%LOCALAPPDATA%\BeamNG\BeamNG.drive\current\mods, which you can open from the launcher under Manage User Folder). - Install the dependencies listed on the mod page; without them, the car won’t load or shows up with missing parts.
The full steps and Safe Mode are covered in how to install mods in BeamNG.drive.

Sports cars
2020 Hirochi CCF
The Hirochi CCF is a rear-wheel-drive roadster with a working soft top, simulated screens and driver aids, plus electric and cup versions. It’s the heaviest download on the list (about 480 MB) and asks more of modest PCs than the stock cars do.
Ibishu 300BX and Blackpool Superlite
The Ibishu 300BX is one of the most downloaded cars on the repository: an 80s Japanese sports car with a V6, 2+2 and T-top versions and configurations from stock to drift, a bit twitchy at high speed. The Blackpool Superlite is a British two-seater of about 600 kg with street, track and racing versions dating back to the 60s and Career mode support; the racing ones require another mod.
RLS Ibishu Yoru and Bruckell Monsoon
The RLS Ibishu Yoru is an all-wheel-drive sedan with 37 street, rally, drift and track configurations; it weighs almost 430 MB and its interior is the stock one. The Bruckell Monsoon is the newcomer: an American sports car from October 14, 2026 with a 3.0 V6, an eight-speed automatic and two police configurations (4.9 rating).
Off-roaders and pickups
- 1982 Ibishu King Gym: compact 80s 4×4 with a two-stroke engine, selectable all-wheel drive with low range and a targa roof. It rolls over easily because of its soft sway bars.
- Brutto Grander, Myrmidon and M-Series: SUV, pickup and light trucks from 1986 to 2016 in a single mod, updated several times between August and September 2026. Requires Hopper Leaf Springs.
- Seoil Framebody Pack: modern body-on-frame SUV with a solid rear axle, heavily downloaded and updated for 0.39. The pickup is paid ($3.30 on Gumroad) and you need the Urbanmaid Core Resource Package.
- Trackfab Apache: desert racing buggy with Class 10, Class 12, short course and V6 sand car variants, one of the best-rated off-road mods. Only 64 MB, but it needs two free mods from the same author.
- 1982 Hirochi RUSH: compact Japanese pickup with an interactive interior and opening panels. The free demo includes four configurations; the full version costs 6 NZD on Patreon, Gumroad or Ko-fi.
Classics
1976 Ibishu Claria
The Ibishu Claria is the repository’s quality benchmark: a 70s Japanese luxury sedan with Japan and US versions, PBR materials on par with the official cars and a 4.95 rating with over 200 votes. It’s comfortable and slow, except for the GTz.
Autobello Aria 1972 and AW Type 1
The Autobello Aria is an Italian compact inspired by the Fiat 127, with its own modeling and Jbeam, 20 configurations (including a pizzeria one) and Career support; it was updated for 0.39 in September 2026. The AW Type 1 is a 1963 Beetle with a rear-mounted air-cooled engine and a radio that plays your music; it’s still in beta and weighs almost 360 MB.
Cherrier Tango 92-96
The Cherrier Tango is a 90s French compact with a working soft top, 64-89 hp engines and even a jet-engine version; several users report problems in Career mode. Skip the ETK K-Series 1994 for now: it’s gorgeous, but its latest update is for 0.36.
Compacts, hatchbacks and SUVs
- Gavril Vertex NA2: compact with over 100 configurations, 11 engines and about 1,300 parts, updated for 0.39 in September 2026. Known conflict with the Beater engines mod.
- Hirochi Mistral: late-90s Japanese compact inspired by the Mitsubishi Colt, 29 configurations and a 4.96 rating from almost 200 votes. Version 1.2.2 updates the lights and controls for 0.39.
- Ibishu CrossSport: 2006-2013 crossover with 67 configurations, seven engines and police and taxi versions. Clear the cache when you update it.
- 2022 Procyon Centauri: luxury SUV with adjustable air suspension, a third row and diesel V6, V6 and twin-turbo V8 engines. Demanding on FPS.

Frequently asked questions
Are BeamNG.drive car mods free?
The ones on the official repository are. Some authors sell an expanded version in their store, like the Hirochi RUSH (6 NZD) or the Seoil Framebody Pack pickup ($3.30), but what’s published on beamng.com is free.
Do 0.39 mods work on 0.40?
Most of them do, but there’s no guarantee until the author confirms it. 0.40 disables all mods when you update: re-enable them one at a time and, if any of them loses lights or textures, clear the cache and look for a new version on the Repository.
What is a conversion and why isn’t it on Holymod?
A 3D model taken from another game and put on top of an official car’s Jbeam. It deforms and drives like the donor car and isn’t allowed on the official repository, the only source for Holymod’s BeamNG mod pages.
Why does a modded car show up with missing parts or not load?
It’s almost always a missing dependency: Hopper Leaf Springs for the Bruttos, two Trackfab mods for the Apache or the Urbanmaid Core Resource Package for the Seoil. Each mod page lists what it needs.
Can they be used in Career mode?
Only the ones that say so, like the Blackpool Superlite, the RLS Ibishu Yoru, the Autobello Aria or the Hirochi Mistral. If the author doesn’t mention it, the car only appears in Freeroam.
