Best BeamNG.drive maps: 20 mod maps by type

The best BeamNG.drive maps by type: crash, off-road, highway, open world, rally and snow, with download size and the game version each one supports.

Updated: 24 Oct 2026

The best BeamNG.drive maps are free, download from the official Repository and cover every play style. For jumping and wrecking cars, Car Jump Arena. For off-road, Black Hills Battle. If you’re after highways and open world, Autobahn 57k or Skeleton Coast; for rally, Pikes Peak, and for snow, Winter West Coast. Below you’ll find 20 maps sorted by type, with the download size and the game version they’re built for. They only work on PC, because the PS5 version doesn’t support mods at launch.

Every map comes from the mod pages we’ve published on Holymod. Sizes are those of the .zip file shown on each map’s official page in the BeamNG repository (checked on October 22, 2026). You’ll find more options in the BeamNG.drive maps category.

Before you download a map

  • Game version. BeamNG.drive 0.40 came out on October 19, 2026. Almost every map on this list targets 0.39 and many will work just the same, but there are exceptions: the author of Skeleton Coast warns that his map is out of date for 0.40, and Winter West Coast has already received a dedicated patch.
  • Size. The maps on this list take up between 85.9 MB and 2.1 GB compressed. If you’re short on space, start with the lighter ones.
  • Hardware. Large, highly detailed maps need more memory than the official ones. Compare your PC against the BeamNG.drive system requirements before downloading the heaviest ones.
  • Status. Some maps are listed as Alpha or Beta in the repository. They work, but their authors still consider them in development.

Crash and jump maps

Car Jump Arena

The most downloaded map in the BeamNG.drive repository: a park for jumps, stunts and crashes with a stadium, a 70-meter tower and minigames. The final version (2609) dates from September 7, 2026 and supports the 0.39 sky system. If you like it, also try its sequel, Car Jump Arena 2023. See the Car Jump Arena mod page.

Downhill Mayhem

Three destructive downhill runs of increasing difficulty, with rapids, train jumps, lava and several biomes. It’s by Spencer Johnson, the same author behind Crazy Highways and Lake Farsoe, and it got its 0.39 fix on August 5, 2026. See the Downhill Mayhem mod page.

Crash Hard Map

A classic for jumping, racing and crashing cars, with a broken highway, a loop, a figure-eight track and a suspension testing area. Heads up: it’s still in Beta and its last update is from January 2025, so the mod page only guarantees it up to 0.34. It may have issues on current versions. See the Crash Hard Map mod page.

Off-road and trial maps

Off-Road Trials by Hendrixx

A single long route packed with obstacles for 4×4 trials, with alternate routes and a gas station. It’s one of the lightest on the list (140.9 MB) and was brought up to date in February 2026. See the Off-Road Trials mod page.

Black Hills Battle Ultra 4 Off Road

An Ultra 4-style course in the Black Hills of South Dakota, built from LiDAR data: forest trails, mud, rock walls and trial sections. It’s been compatible with 0.39 since July 31, 2026. Its author, ATypicalWhiteGuy, has more races in the same style, like Mudstone Valley. See the Black Hills Battle mod page.

M3 St Helens

Mount St. Helens at 80% scale and with no pavement: an endurance race, a rally hill climb, three circuits, trials in the crater and a 25 km crawl route. Version 1.03, from August 11, 2026, updates it for 0.39. See the M3 St Helens mod page.

City, highway and open world

Autobahn 57k

A German autobahn on a closed loop of about 57 km through the hills, with fast AI traffic, service areas, interchanges and country roads. It’s only 85.9 MB, although its author warns that it’s not especially suited to low-end PCs. See the Autobahn 57k mod page.

Crazy Highways

A big highway map with its own interchanges and ramps, very high bridges, full AI support and a rain version. If you notice stuttering, its author recommends lowering textures to Low. See the Crazy Highways mod page.

River Highway

A huge 8×8 km map with over 200 km of roads, a dammed river, towns, a railroad and a 2.1 km airstrip. The terrain has a higher resolution than most maps, and its author warns that it may not work on some PCs. It’s still in Beta and was updated on October 20, 2026. See the River Highway mod page.

Texas, USA

A big rural map with four towns, a highway, miles of dirt roads, working gas stations and full AI traffic support. Version 1.4d dates from August 4, 2026. See the Texas, USA mod page.

Skeleton Coast

One of the highest-rated maps in the repository: an 8×8 km base inspired by the coast of Namibia, surrounded by drivable terrain, with a highway over 70 km long, towns, dunes, mines and an island. Its author warns that the map is out of date for 0.40 and that he’s working on an update. It should run fine on BeamNG’s recommended specs. To get more out of it, there’s Skeleton Coast Scenarios. See the Skeleton Coast mod page.

Polish Roads

A semi-realistic map inspired by Poland, with neighborhoods, industrial areas, countryside, a race track and traffic that respects speed limits. Version 3.3 requires 0.39, adds a winter variant and is the heaviest on the list: 2.1 GB. See the Polish Roads mod page.

Rutas Argentinas

Set in the Argentine pampas: two towns, endless straights, bumpy dirt roads and industrial areas. Its latest version is called «0.39 Fix» (July 30, 2026). From the same author comes Argentinean Roads, with three towns and a race track. See the Rutas Argentinas mod page.

Lake Farsoe

A 4×4 km map with a lake between mountains, a mid-sized city, an airport, a ring expressway, a desert area and AI traffic. It’s optimized for modest PCs and version 1.11 includes 0.39 compatibility. See the Lake Farsoe mod page.

Rally and race tracks

Pikes Peak – LIDAR Edition

The Pikes Peak hill climb (Colorado), recreated from LIDAR data: 20 km of turns up to the summit, paved and dirt versions, and a time trial mode. It’s 824.9 MB, and the page says it may need 8 GB of RAM to load properly. See the Pikes Peak mod page.

Cwmysgawen Rally Stage

A real Welsh rally stage: 7.5 km of twisty gravel, built from LiDAR data, with a rally mission and co-driver pace notes. It’s in Beta (version 0.9) and was updated for 0.39 in August 2026. To round it out, the Rally Italia 1986 pack adds 28 stages with pace notes. See the Cwmysgawen mod page.

Motorsports Playground

A map full of tracks: dirt and paved ovals, a drift area, karting, off-road and rallycross, with roads the AI drives on. Its «.39» version, from August 5, 2026, updates it for 0.39. See the Motorsports Playground mod page.

Snow maps

Winter West Coast, USA

West Coast USA completely covered in snow, with lower-grip roads for drifting, a frozen ocean and night lighting. It’s lightweight because it reuses textures from the original map, and its author released a 0.40 patch on October 20, 2026. If a texture breaks after an update, he recommends clearing the cache. See the Winter West Coast mod page.

Snowtrax

A collection of tracks on snow: a dirt oval, figure-eights on ice, a demolition track, a head-to-head with jumps, trials and a crazy-car downhill run. It’s in Alpha (version 1.3), with the trees updated for 0.39. See the Snowtrax mod page.

Utah snowy

The winter version of the official Utah map, with snow, seven scenarios and eight ramps for jumping off the map. It depends on the original Utah’s data, and its latest version (1.3, from December 2025) fixes textures. From the same author come Italy snowy and East Coast snowing. See the Utah snowy mod page.

How to install a map and where to find it

From the in-game Repository, click Subscribe and the map downloads and activates on its own. If you download it manually with Download Now, copy the .zip, without unzipping it, into the mods folder inside your user folder. According to the official documentation, maps show up in the level selector next to the official ones, and scenarios in their own selector. You’ll find every step in the guide to installing mods in BeamNG.drive.

Frequently asked questions

Where does a map show up after I install it?

In the level selector, when you start a Free Roam session. If it doesn’t show up, make sure the mod is enabled in the Mod Manager and that the .zip isn’t unzipped or tucked inside another folder.

Why does a map have broken or oddly colored textures?

It usually happens after a game update. The authors of Car Jump Arena and Winter West Coast recommend clearing the cache. If it still fails, wait for the author to release the 0.40 version.

How much space do all these maps take up?

The 20 on the list add up to about 8.8 GB compressed. The heaviest is Polish Roads (2.1 GB) and the lightest is Autobahn 57k (85.9 MB).

Which maps run best on a modest PC?

Lake Farsoe is designed for modest hardware, and Off-Road Trials and Winter West Coast are small downloads. The most demanding are River Highway, Pikes Peak and Skeleton Coast.

Can I use these maps on PS5?

No. BeamNG announced that the PS5 version doesn’t support mods at launch. We explain it in the guide to BeamNG.drive on PS5.
