What this mod does

Pikes Peak – LIDAR Edition recreates Colorado’s legendary hill climb, the “Race to the Clouds”: about 20 km (12.4 miles) of road and more than 1,300 meters of elevation gain to the summit. The terrain near the road was built from 1-meter-resolution USGS LIDAR data, and the details were fine-tuned with Google Street View, so the layout, banking and corners closely resemble the real thing.

What’s included

  • Two versions of the map: with the current asphalt and with the old gravel road.
  • A time trial mode on the full course and on a shorter variant, both also in reverse.
  • A separately modeled road so the asphalt is smooth and has the correct banking.
  • Guardrails, rocks, logs, trees, signs and ditches along the entire course.

Who it’s for

It’s ideal if you like hill climbs, time attack or testing rally cars and prototypes on a real, demanding road. It’s also a great map for just driving around with spectacular views.

Compatibility

Version 0.95 was updated on August 7, 2026, for version 0.39 of the game. The author recommends 8 GB of RAM and warns that the guardrail height is uneven in some spots, although it’s only a visual detail: their collision works fine.
