What this mod does
Black Hills Battle Ultra 4 Off Road is an off-road course built from US Forest Service LiDAR data of the Black Hills area in South Dakota. The author sums it up with a warning: I hope you like rocks. It mixes fast forest roads, mud and rock walls among the trees.
What’s included
- A first lap with manageable rocks, forest and forest roads; a much harder second lap.
- The two laps link up to form one complete course.
- A crawler trail next to the start line, marked on the map.
- A narrow forest trail designed for UTVs.
- A rebuilt start straight, more scenery and new rock lines on the second lap.
Tips
Players consider it an off-road benchmark: if a vehicle can handle it, it can handle almost anything. The author reworked sections so stock vehicles do better and recommends using low range and taking it slow. The mod page also mentions 35-inch UTV tires and a free parts pack for stock wheels.
Release notes
The 0.39 update arrived in July and August 2026, with readjusted trees, fixed textures, a black grass fix and a lighter file. Version .75 from August 28 changes the dirt color on the UTV track.

How to install it
- Open the Black Hills Battle Ultra 4 Off Road page on the official BeamNG Repository.
- Click Download to get the .zip, or subscribe from the in-game Repository (Subscribe button).
- If you download it manually, copy the .zip, without unzipping it, into the mods folder inside your BeamNG.drive user folder (Documents > BeamNG.drive > current > mods).
- Launch the game and check in the Mod Manager that it's enabled.
- Go into Freeroam, pick the map and look on the map for the crawler trail or the UTV trail if you don't want to run the full race.
