What this mod does
Rock Hater Raceway Short Course is a short course off-road track for people who, as the author puts it, hate rocks. Instead of slow crawling sections, it offers smooth, fast dirt with jumps, dirt berms, whoops and walls, for racing competition trucks and buggies.
What’s included
- A short course layout with a wide stadium section, a back straight rebuilt several times and open high-speed sections.
- Jumps, berms and whoops smoothed out over successive versions.
- Inner walls and few rocks, placed only to keep people from cutting corners.
- Flags and reference markers to help you find your way around the layout.
Recommended vehicles
The author designed it around the Trackfab Apache short course truck and recommends the Geiser 1x truck, the SSTs, the stadium-style RWD Dunekicker and Trackfab’s vehicles. It’s not meant for rally cars: the repeated bumps punish regular cars.
Release notes
Version .85 from August 27, 2026 fixes the black grass that appeared with 0.39. Before that, the ground textures were redone and gravity was set back to Earth’s. The author warns that the AI has never worked well on his off-road maps: the AI race is almost a joke and might be removed. Players rate it 4.7 on average.

How to install it
- Open the Rock Hater Raceway Short Course page on the official BeamNG Repository.
- Click Download to get the .zip, or subscribe from the in-game Repository (Subscribe button).
- If you download it manually, copy the .zip, without unzipping it, into the mods folder inside your BeamNG.drive user folder (Documents > BeamNG.drive > current > mods).
- Launch the game and check in the Mod Manager that it's enabled.
- Go into Freeroam, pick the map and head out on track with a short course truck or buggy.

Common problems
Is it good for rally cars?
Not ideal: the author designed it for short course trucks and buggies, and the repeated bumps punish regular cars.
Do the AI races work?
Poorly: the author admits the AI gets confused at the bridge and at one crossing, and he doesn't plan to fix it.
Is there a version with rocks?
No. The author explains that it's its own track, separate from his Ultra 4 maps with rocks.
