Best BeamNG.drive mods (2026): cars, maps and apps

The best BeamNG.drive mods in 2026: cars, trucks, maps, parts, apps and gameplay, with their version, dependencies and what changes with 0.40.

Updated: 24 Oct 2026

The best BeamNG.drive mods in 2026 are free and almost all install with one click from the official Repository: cars like the Ibishu 300BX or the RLS Ibishu Yoru, maps like Car Jump Arena, parts packs like Tanuki’s and apps that change how you play, like BeamMP for online multiplayer. They only work on PC: the PS5 version, which came out on October 19, 2026, doesn’t support mods at launch. And since 0.40 has just landed, it’s worth checking each mod’s version before installing it.

This selection comes from the BeamNG.drive mod pages we’ve published on Holymod. For each mod we note what it adds, the game version its author lists and whether it needs other mods. They all download from the author’s official page, never from reupload sites.

Heads-up: BeamNG.drive 0.40 and your mods

BeamNG released version 0.40 on October 19, 2026 and 0.40.1 the next day, with several fixes. It’s a big update: split-screen for local play, the Cherrier Percheron truck, occupants that affect the physics and new graphics options. For mods it has three practical consequences:

  • Some older UI apps may stop showing up. The release notes say the v-bng-panel directive, which some apps used, has been removed.
  • The «possibly broken mods» button is gone. BeamNG removed it because it gave too many false positives, so now you need to look at the date and version each author lists.
  • Enabling and disabling mods is faster, which makes it easier to test them one at a time.

Most of the mods on this list target 0.39, which was the stable version until a few days ago. Many will keep working, but not all of them: the author of Skeleton Coast, for example, already warns that his map is out of date for 0.40. The ones we mark with «0.40» already have an update for the new version.

Cars

The highest-rated mod cars in the repository use the game’s own fictional brands (Ibishu, Gavril, Hirochi…), so they fit in with the official ones and many work in Career mode. More options in the BeamNG.drive cars category.

Ibishu 300BX

An ’80s Japanese sports car with a V6 engine, 2+2 and T-top versions, and both pre- and post-facelift styling. It’s one of the most downloaded cars in the repository, and its author has already updated the lights for 0.39. See the Ibishu 300BX mod page.

RLS Ibishu Yoru

An all-wheel-drive sports sedan with four-cylinder engines and 37 street, rally, drift and track configurations. It supports Career mode and is updated for 0.39. It’s a good pick if you want a single car that does it all. See the RLS Ibishu Yoru mod page.

Ibishu Mirena (2000-2010)

A sports sedan with a front longitudinal engine and over 25 configurations, with V6, V8 and even V10 engines, plus police parts. It’s updated for 0.39. See the Ibishu Mirena mod page.

Gavril Vertex NA2

A Gavril compact with over 100 configurations, 11 engines and about 1,300 interchangeable parts. It got its 0.39 update in September 2026. It’s ideal if you love spending hours in the parts menu. See the Gavril Vertex NA2 mod page.

1976 Ibishu Claria

A ’70s Japanese luxury family sedan, with several versions for Japan and the United States. It’s one of the highest-rated in the repository and is already updated for 0.39. See the Ibishu Claria mod page.

Hirochi Outlaw (motorcycle)

A ’90s sport bike with a rider, 12 configurations, six engines, turbos, a drift version and driving aids. It’s one of the most downloaded motorcycles in the repository, with an update from September 28, 2026. See the Hirochi Outlaw mod page.

Trucks and buses

If you’re into heavy vehicles, in the trucks category you’ll also find locomotives, trailers and forklifts.

Vintage T-Series

A classic truck from the T-Series family with a sleeper cab, over 20 configurations, working ramps and winch, and five engines, including a V12. It was updated on September 9, 2026, with 0.39 already out. See the Vintage T-Series mod page.

Cherrier/Wentward Potent Lite

A ’90s European cab-over truck from a fictional brand, but very detailed. The Lite version is free and includes 4×2 and 6×4 configurations, right-hand-drive Australian versions and Career mode support. Version 1.5.2 updates the instrument cluster for 0.39. See the Potent Lite mod page.

Capsule (double-decker bus)

A modern city bus with single- and double-decker versions from 10.5 to 19.5 meters, articulated included. It’s updated for 0.39 and pairs with the Bus Display Controller app, by the same author, to change the destination sign. See the Capsule mod page.

Maps

We have a separate guide to the best BeamNG.drive maps, sorted by type and with their download size. These are the four must-haves:

  • Car Jump Arena: the most downloaded map in the repository. It’s a park for jumps and crashes with a stadium, a 70-meter tower and minigames. It was updated in September 2026.
  • Skeleton Coast: an 8×8 km desert inspired by Namibia, with a 70 km highway, towns, dunes and mines. Its author warns that it isn’t updated for 0.40 yet.
  • River Highway: 8×8 km with over 200 km of roads, a dammed river and a 2.1 km airstrip. It needs a PC with some headroom.
  • West Coast USA | House Interiors & Expansion: expands the official map with about 70 houses with interiors, a car wash and restaurant drive-thrus. It’s already compatible with 0.40.

Parts and configurations

Parts are the easiest way to refresh the official cars without downloading new vehicles. There are more in the parts category.

Tanuki’s Parts Pack

Adds engine swaps and parts to the stock cars: V8s and V10s for the Burnside, Scintilla, BX, Covet or D-Series, plus interchangeable front ends. It’s very well rated: in August its author adjusted the Career mode prices for 0.39, and version 2.1.0 dates from October 13, 2026. See the Tanuki’s Parts Pack mod page.

Realistic Vanilla Configurations Pack

Over 120 realistic configurations for the official vehicles, made only with in-game parts: discontinued, police and rally versions, and factory trims. According to the author, it’s compatible with Career mode. See the pack’s mod page.

Biscuit’s VanillaPlus Config Pack

Another collection of new configurations for most stock cars, also made with original parts and with no dependencies. It got its 0.40 update on October 20, 2026. See the VanillaPlus mod page.

JATO and Ram Plow for Everything

A very popular joke mod: it adds JATO rockets and a ram plow to almost any car, with adjustable-angle nozzles that can even get you flying. It’s a tiny download. See the JATO and Ram Plow mod page.

Universal Monster Frame

A monster truck frame that fits many of the game’s vehicles: pick the Monster chassis and the car appears with giant suspension and wheels. The latest update is from October 5, 2026. See the Universal Monster Frame mod page.

Apps and tools

Apps add features to the UI. They’re the most exposed to the 0.40 change, so pay close attention to each one’s date. More in the tools category.

BeamMP

It’s the mod that adds online multiplayer to BeamNG.drive. It has its own launcher and a server browser, and it automatically downloads the mods each server uses. It’s free, but you need a legal, up-to-date copy of the game. The mod page lists it for 0.39.4, so check its official website to see whether it supports 0.40 yet. See the BeamMP mod page.

Individual Part Repair Menu

Lets you repair individual parts instead of fixing the whole car, and saves damage across sessions and maps. It’s compatible with Career mode and updated for 0.39. See the Individual Part Repair Menu mod page.

Traffic Flow and Density Lab

Controls traffic: up to 200 cars driving and parked, police percentage, radius around the player and lightweight profiles for modest PCs. The author developed and tested it on 0.39.4. See the Traffic Flow and Density Lab mod page.

Enhanced Interior Camera

Makes the interior camera react to G-forces, speed, slides and impacts. It includes adjustable presets, two of them for VR. It requires 0.39 or later. See the Enhanced Interior Camera mod page.

Gameplay and effects

These mods change what happens when you drive or crash. More in the gameplay and skins categories.

Advanced Engine Tuning and Wear

Advanced engine simulation: air-fuel mixture, piston and cylinder wear, battery and alternator, and an app for tuning and repairs. It’s already updated for 0.40. See the Advanced Engine Tuning and Wear mod page.

Smoke Dust FX

Replaces tire smoke and dust with a new system, featuring a wheel temperature model and dust that matches the color of each surface. It lists compatibility with 0.40. See the Smoke Dust FX mod page.

Grime – Dynamic Dirt

Your car gets covered in mud, dirt, sand or snow depending on where you drive, with spray from each wheel, and it only gets clean when you wash it or drive through water. Version 2.3 dates from October 13, 2026. See the Grime mod page.

Fluid Spill Mod

When you crash, oil, coolant and fuel spill out, and the puddles really do cost you grip. It includes a settings app and is compatible with BeamMP. See the Fluid Spill Mod mod page.

Most Wanted Mission

Police chases with six wanted levels, rewards and roadblocks on East Coast, Italy, Utah and West Coast. It’s compatible with 0.39. See the Most Wanted Mission mod page.

Traffic Chaos

Drives traffic crazy: control how aggressive it is and how much it respects traffic lights, and it can make cars chase you. It’s already ready for 0.40. See the Traffic Chaos mod page.

How to install them

The easiest way is the in-game Repository: search for the mod, click Subscribe and it downloads and activates on its own, and it also updates whenever the author publishes changes. On the repository website, the Download Now button downloads the .zip so you can install it manually in the mods folder inside your user folder, without unzipping it. The official documentation advises against running more than 20 or 30 mods at once, because they can conflict. You’ll find the step-by-step in the guide to installing mods in BeamNG.drive.

Frequently asked questions

Are BeamNG.drive mods free?

Every one on this list is. Some authors offer paid full versions, like the Cherrier Picnic’s, or paid expansions, like the pickup in the Seoil Framebody Pack, but we always point that out on the mod pages.

Are there BeamNG.drive mods on PS5?

No. BeamNG announced that the PS5 version doesn’t support mods or VR at launch, although it aims to bring feature parity across platforms later on. More details in our guide to BeamNG.drive on PS5.

Do 0.39 mods work on 0.40?

Many do, but it’s not guaranteed. UI apps are the most fragile, because of the removal of v-bng-panel. If a mod breaks, disable it in the Mod Manager and wait for its author to update it.

Why doesn’t a mod car show up, or why is it missing parts?

Often it’s missing a dependency. For example, the Brutto Grander needs the Hopper Leaf Springs mod, and the Hirochi Accent requires Arcanox Core. Install whatever the mod page asks for before loading the vehicle.

Can I use these mods in multiplayer?

With BeamMP, yes: the server sends its mods to players when they connect. Some mods, like Fluid Spill Mod or Powerups, explicitly state that they work on BeamMP.
