What this mod does
West Coast USA | House Interiors & Expansion turns the official West Coast USA map into a much livelier place. It installs as a separate map, so the original stays untouched. The highlight is that every house in the residential area has an interior you can enter, either on foot or by pulling your car into the garage.
What’s included
- About 70 houses with interiors in the residential area, in four types.
- A working car wash and open storage units all over the map.
- New interiors in dealerships, a gas station garage and other previously closed buildings.
- Drive-thrus at the burger joint and the diner.
- A phone with apps to control the house and the AC, play music on a speaker and change settings.
- Usable objects: shower, bed, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker and microwave.
Tips
Load the map under its own name from Freeroam. If the UI doesn’t show up, switch the HUD app to HEOS Freeroam. The author advises disabling other mods that might interfere.
Release notes
Version 1.6 from October 20, 2026 adds 0.40 compatibility and reworks the garage system, which no longer repairs your car when you drive in. If you had an earlier version, clear the cache. It’s still in Beta: some players couldn’t find the houses or saw messages that stayed stuck on screen.

Requirements

How to install it
- Open the West Coast USA | House Interiors & Expansion page on the official BeamNG Repository.
- Click Download to get the .zip, or subscribe from the in-game Repository (Subscribe button).
- If you download it manually, copy the .zip, without unzipping it, into the mods folder inside your BeamNG.drive user folder (Documents > BeamNG.drive > current > mods).
- Launch the game and check in the Mod Manager that it's enabled.
- If you had an earlier version, clear the cache from the launcher.
- In Freeroam, pick the West Coast USA | House Interiors & Expansion map and head to the residential area.

Common problems
Does it replace the original West Coast USA?
No. Since September 2026 it's a standalone map; the official one stays the same.
I can't get into the houses, what should I do?
Load the mod's map, not the original, go to the residential area and enter through the door or the garage. Disable other mods that might interfere.
Why can't I see the phone or the messages?
Switch the HUD app from Freeroam to HEOS Freeroam.
