What this mod does
BeamNG.drive doesn’t have official multiplayer yet, so the way to play online with other people is BeamMP, a community mod installed through its own launcher. It syncs every player’s vehicles on the server in real time, soft-body physics included, and lets you join races, roleplay sessions, destruction events or just free-roam with friends.
How it works
- The BeamMP launcher stays open in a terminal window and starts the game with the multiplayer mod enabled.
- A Multiplayer option appears in the game with a public server browser (the official website mentions over 500 servers and more than 2,000 active players).
- You can log in with your BeamMP forum account or as a guest.
- Any modded vehicles and maps a server uses download automatically when you connect: you don’t have to find them yourself.
Version and compatibility
Client version 4.22.5 is released for BeamNG.drive 0.39.4. BeamMP doesn’t work with pirated copies or old versions of the game, so after every BeamNG update it’s best to wait for BeamMP to release its patch.
Is it free?
Yes. The Patreon is optional and gives perks like an Early Access tag on your name, access to an exclusive server and channels, extra keys for hosting public servers and the ability to spawn an additional vehicle on the official servers.
Running your own server is also free if you host it at home; to have it show up in the public list you need an authentication key from Keymaster.

- Free and open source, with free private servers if you host them yourself
- After each BeamNG update it may stop working until the BeamMP patch is out
- Performance depends heavily on your CPU and the number of cars on the server
- Other active mods can cause conflicts; it's best to join with only the BeamMP mod enabled

Common problems
Do I have to pay to play online?
No. BeamMP is free; the Patreon only gives optional perks like the Early Access tag, extra server keys and one more vehicle on the official servers.
Does it work with a pirated copy or an old version of the game?
No. The official documentation states that BeamMP only works with legit, up-to-date copies of BeamNG.drive.
Do I have to install each server's mods?
No. The vehicles and maps the server uses download automatically when you connect. That's why your first time joining a server with lots of mods can take longer.
My antivirus flags the launcher. Is it dangerous?
The developers explain it's a false positive caused by the launcher's network connections, and all the code is public on GitHub.
