What this mod does

Hirochi Expansion is a mod by Bugster that extends the base game’s Hirochi cars. For now it only covers the Hirochi Sunburst: it adds the original right-hand-drive Japanese models (which don’t exist in the stock game), UK export configurations, lights for markets outside the United States and tweaks to the European configs so they carry the proper lights.

What the author says

It’s published on the official BeamNG repository as a beta. The right-hand-drive Sunburst content is by dankpeng420 and is used with permission, per the credits. It has 8,618 downloads and the .zip weighs 25.5 MB.

Dependencies

The UK market configurations need the European License Plates Compilation mod, also from the BeamNG repository; without it those plates won’t show. Everything else works on its own.

Version and compatibility

Version 1.0.0.3 came out on November 2, 2026 as a bug fix; before that there was a 0.40 hotfix on October 20, 2026, so the author keeps the mod current with the game’s 0.40 branch.

Known issues

The author acknowledges that some triggers are missing on the right-hand-drive version, and a user reported bugged textures on that version’s roll cage in 1.0.0.1.

How to install it

  1. Open the Hirochi Expansion page on the official BeamNG repository.
  2. Click Download to get the .zip, or subscribe from the in-game repository (Subscribe button).
  3. If you want the UK configurations, also install European License Plates Compilation from the repository.
  4. Copy the .zip files without unzipping into the mods folder of your BeamNG.drive user folder.
  5. Start the game, check in the Mod Manager that it's enabled and look for the new Hirochi Sunburst configurations.
