What this mod does
The Cherrier Tango is a compact from the fictional Cherrier brand (the same one as the Picnic), set between 1992 and 1996. It’s a small, light and charming car, with the typical smiling face of French city cars from that era and a canvas roof that opens.
What’s included
- Two fuel-injected engines: a 1.2 with 64 HP and a 1.4 with 89 HP.
- A working canvas roof, opening doors, hood and trunk, and a digital dashboard.
- Lights that fade on and off, triggers for the hazards and ignition, and a detailed center console.
- Extras added in updates: a widebody kit, straight-pipe exhaust, anti-lag system, roll cages, hood-mounted rally lights, a police configuration and several paint jobs.
- A joke configuration with a jet engine, the one players talk about the most.
Who it’s for
If you like ’90s city cars for relaxed driving around town, crash testing a lightweight car or building something absurd in the configurator, the Tango offers plenty of fun. It isn’t fast in stock form, but the tuning parts change its character quite a bit.
Release notes
Version 1.5 adapts the car to BeamNG.drive 0.39: a new lighting system, revised glow maps and fixes to triggers, the radiator and wipers. Some users say it doesn’t show up or doesn’t work properly in Career mode, so use it mainly in Freeroam.
