What this mod does
Actual Day-/Nighttime Mod makes the sun rise and set in ETS2 at the times it really does during the week you’re playing. Its author, Viss Valdyr, has updated it every Sunday since 2017, and it has more than 400 change notes and 550,000 subscribers.
How it works
- It syncs sunrise and sunset with the approximate daylight of the current week.
- It uses the game’s date and location system, so the day length in northern Scandinavia differs from southern Europe.
- It doesn’t change how fast time passes, only when the sun rises and sets.
In fall and winter you’ll drive many more hours at night; in summer, almost the whole trip will be in daylight.
Load order and compatibility
The author says it’s compatible with any mod, but asks you to place it above any map or weather mod. It weighs just 36 KB.
Time zones
If you use the in-game time zones, disable them in winter or the times will be off by one hour. The alternative he suggests is the Winter Time Zones mod by tkk7406, placed right below. He also links a separate mod to avoid fines for driving without lights, now that there are more hours of darkness.

Common problems
