What this mod does
License-Plate Mod for Germany, by Viss Valdyr, changes the license plates of traffic vehicles in Germany in Euro Truck Simulator 2. Its goal is to show every possible combination of German area codes in the game. The author released it in 2016 and still maintains it: it has over 30,000 subscribers on Steam Workshop.
What it does
- Adds German city and district codes, from A to ZZ (for example A, B, BER or MUC).
- It only affects AI traffic: your truck and trailer keep their normal plates. The author clarified this to a player who asked about the trailer.
Latest changes
On August 14, 2026, the author added LE (Lemgo), DT (Detmold) and SNH (Sinsheim), thanks to information from a player. The author accepts corrections in the comments, which are usually in German.
Version
The author doesn’t list a version in the description. In November 2025, when a player said it crashed their game on 1.57, the author replied that it had been retested and worked without errors or crashes on that version. No DLC needed.

How to install it
- Open the “License-Plate Mod for Germany” page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
- Launch Euro Truck Simulator 2 and wait for Steam to finish the download.
- Open your profile's Mod Manager and enable the mod.
- Drive through Germany to see the new plates in traffic.
