What this mod does
Motor SUPER SCANIA Brasil is an engine mod by Merch2 for the 2016-and-later Scania R and S that come with Euro Truck Simulator 2. It replaces the engine data with the official technical specs of the SUPER lineup Scania sells in Brazil.
What it changes
- Displacement, fuel consumption, torque, operating range and names based on the manufacturer’s data.
- Idle at 500 rpm, as on Brazilian Scanias, instead of SCS’s 550 rpm.
- Engine brake that works without abruptly downshifting, so it feels more realistic.
- Engines with the Euro 6 Proconve P8 standard.
Included engines
R series: DC13 at 420, 450, 460, 500 and 560 hp and DC16 V8 at 660 and 770 hp. S series: DC13 at 460, 500 and 560 hp and DC16 V8 at 660 and 770 hp. All the SUPER engines are there except the 410 hp OC13 gas engine.
Version and compatibility
The author confirmed in February 2025 that it was up to date with 1.53. It only works with the game’s original Scania R and S, not with buses. It may conflict with other engine mods, but not with sound mods: this mod doesn’t change the sound.

How to install it
- Open the mod's page on Steam Workshop and click “Subscribe”.
- Wait for Steam to finish the download.
- Launch ETS2, open the Mod Manager and enable the mod.
- Disable other mods that change Scania engines.
- In your save, go to a service shop and pick one of the SUPER engines for your Scania R or S.
Common problems
Does it change the sound?
No: the author stresses that it only changes engine behavior; you can keep your sound mod.
Does it work on buses?
No: only on SCS's Scania R and S.
Is it compatible with Eugene's PGRS pack?
The author said he'd like it to be, but it isn't for now.
Does it conflict with other mods?
It may conflict with other engine mods.
